Ser Matarys Rivers was technically already on shift with Ser Jaymes Farman, and they had just relieved Andrik the Ironborn and Ser Tym Drake who remained at the end of their own shift without any complaint.

Baelon arrived, giving the Queen a perfunctory bow as he entered before taking a seat. He leaned toward Andrik the Ironborn.
"So are you actually from the Islands? I had heard Dragonstone, but that doesn't make much sense."

Yana slips into the room, she's dressed all in black, with an open dark leather knee length coat over the top of her clothes, her hair is tightly braided, she looks like she's been out in the city doing whatever it is she does when not shadowing the Queen. 'Greetings all'

"Wyk, m'lord. Ain't been there since '62," Andrik replied. The other Dragon Guard look to the Queen curiously, patiently waiting for her to explain this meeting but well trained not to speak unless spoken to, though they each bow deeply to the Commander as she enters.

"Wyk, m'lord. Ain't been there since '62," Andrik replied. "I see. Only been to Pyke, myself, and that was a brief visit." Baelon told the guardsman. "Old Wyk or Great Wyk? Or perhaps some other Wyk that I don't know about?"

"Little Wyk. Tiny spit o' rocks south o' the big Wyks," Andrik replied laconically. "Mos' ever heard of it, an' a man's gotta make his way in th'world."

"True enough. So what brought you off your spit of rocks to this side of Westeros?"

Rhaena was not going to wait and let them finish their conversation now everyone had arrived that needed to.
"Lord harroway already knows of why you have been summoned here," Rhaena said, looking at each in turn, "there is a summit in Pentos of the free cities, and they wish for me to send an envoy, and I am going to go myself. The Burned man is a serious threat we should be treating seriously. Lords Lyonel and Lord Baelon shall be coming as my advisors, and Commander snow and Ser Matarys will be the dragon guards coming with me, as they fly dragons," Rhaena said, looking at each person as she mentioned them.
"The other four dragon guards, I would like one of you guarding my two sons at all times,"

Yana nods 'My Queen' she says softly in acknowledgement of the orders, she looks pensive, frowning slightly, not to happy that so little is known of the burned knob that's stirring things up

The four land-bound Dragon Guard (sometimes referred to by the others as 'the Grounded') each nodded at the Queen's words, and then looked to Yana Snow, who would need to appoint one of them to command over the others in her absence.

"The other four dragon guards, I would like one of you guarding my two sons at all times," Baelon straightened up and paid attention as Rhaena began talking. At mention of the trip, a broad smile came across his face. "Oh wonderful, I do love Pentos. Will you be wanting any Naval accompaniment, Your Grace? Having, say, a dozen ships of our new fleet pull into port a few days after we arrive would certainly impress upon the Free Cities the measure of our strength at sea."

"We are not staying for a few days, we will be staying two days at the most," Rhaena replied, "ordinarily I would agree that a naval accompaniment would aid us, but we shall have four dragons with us, and they are what the freecities want to see, and want to use. Not the ships.."

"As you wish, Your Grace." Baelon replied, nodding in obeisance. "But if I may make a suggestion now, we ought not let the Free Cities draw us headlong into a war with New Valyria. By all means, we should listen to their arguments. But I see nothing to be gained in a war between dragonriders, save for more dead dragons."

"You would rather wait until the burned man has gained momentum and is at the city gates? Putting my realm in danger? I would rather we burn the free cities, if war is inevitable," she remembered the damage one dragon battle had done to the city.

"Of course I do not want that. But there is an enemy with dragons that is closer than New Valyria. And they count among their number traitors of our own blood. Going to war in the East while Dorne remains a threat leaves us open to attack, especially with Dondarrion dead."

"I am taking precautions against Dorne," she said, looking at Baelon only. "I would rather deal with a definite war, than a potential one. Vhagar is going to Yronwood, with a couple of others. If Dorne thinks about it, they will think again."

"Then my concerns are unwarranted," Baelon replied, shrugging, "And you have dealt with the matter deftly. But mayhaps we might also send an emissary to this Burned Rider, in the interest of keeping our eggs in multiple baskets."

Baelon considered the question for a moment. "It must be a dragon rider, obviously. And one with a dragon of sufficient size to impress, but not so great that it would be a terrible loss if they opt not to observe guest-right. I would stop at Driftmark or Sweetport Sound on our way, and dispatch one of the Velaryon boys. They ought to be put to work, even if they stay away from court."

"The man has Balerion." She said, "any dragon but Vhagar... Even Vhagar, is a spec. I am not sending anyone until after the freecitiy summit."

He shrugged. "As you will, Your Grace. There is no rush, so far as I am aware."
