The annual festival takes place in the city. There will be prayers in the Valyrian temple for those who are so inclined, but the festival is open to all regardless of which religion they favour. There will be stalls selling food, drink and trinkets, as well as a fortune teller.
The festival is to be held in honor of the Valyrian Goddess Zyraxes, of Love and Family. There will be four days of tournaments and feasting, as well as lesser competitions such as footraces, feats of strength and dexterity, and even a teller of riddles to test those who think themselves overly clever. There will be displays of music and song and poetry, with a lute made of pure silver to be given as prize to the best musician, and a golden harp to whomever has the most beautiful voice.
On the final evening of the festival, as the sun sets, there will be a grand ball under the night sky, complete with bonfires and a display by the Spectacle of Flame, as the Pyromancers call their shows, to celebrate new marriages. There will also be the opportunity for private revelry among couples.
The prize-purse for the winner of the Joust is five thousand gold dragons, and two thousand for the winner of the melee. The best marksman is to receive an arrow made of solid gold as well as a Dragonbone bow, crafted in the style of the Dothraki horse riders, likely imported at great cost. The Queen's Festival is likely to draw lords and ladies from every corner of Westeros.

The great market with the outdoor attractions is now open for business. Many residents of Kings Landing, and visitors, can be seen milling about.
