I disagree. Amon brought anarchy and nearly wiped out an entire race of benders. Admittedly, the Red Lotus pretty much did the exact same thing, but with far fewer dead folks and overt conflict. Killing one queen is very different than actually occupying a city by force and systematically targeting groups. More disturbingly, Amon's philosophy was backed by far more followers and resources. It's also worth mentioning that all the successes you're attributing to the Red Lotus were all more or less acheieved by Azula in The Crossroads of Destiny. However, I have to admit, I've got to admire Zaheer's ability to get shit done with so little. It's all been done before, but never with such elegance. My issue is that Amon's plan was short sighted. The military would have put down his revolution eventually and he didn't actually kill anyone if I remember correctly. Zaheer' plan on the other hand had a shot at succeeding, more long term implications, and will have actual lasting consequences even though it failed. Don't get me wrong, I loved Amon until it turned out he was a blood bending fraud, but he was kind of small potatoes compared to Unalaq and the Red Lotus. Also, seeing as Unalaq was a member of the Red Lotus, you could argue that they're the overarching threat of LoK and Amon was just the appetizer. Also Zaheer did something that no one else has except Ozai: hold his own against the avatar while in avatar state. And Ozai had the benefit of Sozin's comet. Arguably, he had the benefit of Korra being poisoned but that didn't seem to slow her down in the slightest until way into the fight. |

And yes, it would have been a thousand times better if Amon wasn't a blood bender and had the power through something spiritual. I was hoping it had something to do with the face stealer.
I get that they're going an extremist political commentary route with this series. Dangers tyranny with Ozai, straw man propaganda with Amon, and Anarchists with Zaheer. It makes the villains more human, but having all the villains in the first book be blood benders was just dull. Amon was cool for the sole fact that he was a regular guy taking down benders, which would have been great because now it seems that bender cause all the world's problems which is unfortunate.

It's pirates like the dummy who released the first 4 episodes while they were still in the translating phase. It's not my fault that Nick.com sucks and that they have ads every 5 minutes when watching the show which makes the entire show load about 10 times slower...

Looks good, though a quick question I have off the top of my head would be if healing is a specialty, are there going to be tiers of specialties or just one overall? So if I can perform healing I can't blood bend, and for an earth bending exams if you can use seismic sense then you can't necessarily use sand/metal/lava bending since seismic sense is pretty much a specialty..

No I understood, I just used replace meaning if you pick one then you can't pick another one. My bad but yeah that is understandable, I guess I just never saw healing as a specialty of water bending but it makes sense.
