A medium-sized estate in the city which Baelon shares with his mistress, Falena Buckwell, and their children.

Lady Alysanne arrived at the manse of Baelon Targaryen and knocked on his door.

A servant answered the door and ushered Alysanne into a sitting room, brought in a decanter of wine with two glasses, then left to find Baelon. A few minutes later, he came to find his guest. A brief look of shock passed over his face before he composed himself and addressed her.
"I apologize, my lady. It's just...you look very much like your mother."

Alysanne waited patiently, only pouring herself a cup of watered wine when her host arrived.
"Lord Baelon, an honour," Alysanne said with a delicate curtsy. "My father says so too, even more now that I am grown into adulthood. I do hope I am not intruding?"

"No, no, not at all. Make yourself at home." Baelon replied, gesturing toward a seat. "I was going to go down to the docks in a bit, but there's nothing urgent that needs taking care of. Finally meeting the daughter of an old friend certainly takes precedent." He sat down across from her and poured himself a glass, unwatered. "How long have you been in the city?"

Alysanne smiled and took a seat, before sipping at her wine. She wore the same dress she had for court but had brushed her hair so it fell normally.
"I arrived this morning and spent the day presenting myself to the Queen, as well as getting settled in our manse," She explained cheerfully. "My mother liked ships, did she not? Perhaps if it is not too much to ask would you be able to show me the harbour?"

"Of course, whenever you like," Baelon answered, smiling, "And yes, she did. But then, that comes with being a Velaryon. It was she who first gave me some respectability and loaned me a few of Driftmark's ships to hunt pirates with."

"That was very kind of her," Alys answered. "It is a shame, because I have only once been on a ship. Hopefully I will get more chances in the future."
She sipped from her wine and studied the middle aged lord before her. "My father can only tell me so much about my mother and I have heard all the stories so many times. I just wish I could have known her."

"She was far too young when she passed." He sighed, and swirled his wine about in the glass. "And well worth knowing. Had me wrapped around her little finger, and I told her as much. And not just because she was a beauty, though it helped. It was that she was too clever by half, at least compared to my fool self."

It was that point that his current mistress, Faelina entered, and she topped up his glass without even asking. She gave a small smile to Alysanne.
"Anyone is cleverer then you when you are not thinking." She said.

Alysanne laughed at Baelon's comment. "Father would agree; he always says that mother was more beautiful than any other woman he has ever met, though perhaps he is just clinging to a memory."
She smiled sadly and turned to greet Faelina with a nod, before looking back at Baelon.
"Though perhaps I have inherited her intellect."

"I am sure you have." Baelon answered, before turning to Faelina and making introductions. "My dear, this is Lady Alysanne Arryn, daughter of my late cousin Daenerys, whom I've told you about. She's only just arrived in the city." He turned back to Alysanne, "And this, my lady, is my companion, Lady Faelina Buckwell, with whom I share this home."

"I am honoured to meet you," Alysanne said, rising to curtsy to Lady Faelina. "Are... are the two of your married?"

"And you." Faelina said with a soft smile as she inclined her head.
"Would you like more wine?"
She skippe the question gracefully.

Baelon chose to be straightforward with the girl. "My wife, Lady Arwyn, does not find the city to her liking, and so she usually remains at Sun House, running the day-to-day affairs." He placed an arm around Faelina's waist. "My darling Faelina keeps my home here in the city, and is the mother of two of my children. Alas, the Valyrian way of keeping multiple wives is not much in fashion, these days."

"Oh... I understand," Alysanne said with an embarrassed little laugh. "I am not one to judge, especially in such regards, though the people of the Vale are very much more traditional."
She turned to Faelina and shook her head. "No thank you, though perhaps some chilled tea if you have it?"

"Yes, the Valemen are as cold and unchanging as the rocks they live on. But you're as much a Valyrian as you are a daughter of the Vale. You ought to learn our ways as well. The festival will make for a fine start in your education."

"I suppose so," Alysanne answered, giving a little shrug. "It will be hard to adjust but I am sure I will be able to find some positives in such a different culture."
She smiled. "After all, I do fly a dragon and wield my mother's... her sword she had made."

"Ah, yes. Grace, isn't it? A lovely piece of work, if I recall. But those are just symbols." He pointed a finger at her heart. "It's what's pumping through your veins that matters. You're the blood of the dragon. A Targaryen, if not by name, as was Dany before you. You will do fine, here."

Alysanne smiled. "I am. I have known that since I received the egg that hatched Daeneryon, my dragon. Perhaps I will be spending more time in King's Landing, around my family."
She played with a strand of her hair, before noticing the impropriety and stopping. "The Vale is terribly isolating."

"I can imagine. It's time you saw a bit more of the world. I was about your age when I traveled for the first time - sailed East and played pirate for a few years." Baelon leaned back in his seat, sighing at the memory. "Gods, but those were good years. Not that anyone in the family much approved."

Alysanne laughed. "I doubt I will be going pirating any time soon, but I would love to see more of Westeros. I had intended to visit Driftmark after the festival, though perhaps that could be seen as a little controversial. Are there any places you would recommend?"

Baelon considered the question for a moment. "Oldtown is worth seeing. Not what it once was, to be sure, but Maelys did a fair job of rebuilding it. So long as you are in the city, Dragonstone is only a short trip by air. And Sunspear is certainly a...different experience, though perhaps not the safest place for our kin at the moment."

"I don't think I will be visiting Sunspear any time soon," Alysanne replied, evidently amused. "Oldtown would definitely be worth it though, and Dragonstone. I may visit the latter after going to Driftmark."
She frowned and looked away for a moment. "I have been wondering about Driftmark..."

"And what have you been wondering?" Baelon asked her, taking a sip of his wine. "More likely, you've already got a plan, and you want my help, unless I miss my guess."
