"There is a summit of the freecities I have asked to send a representative, and I cannot think of anyone I trust to represent me more, it is meeting to discuss what can be done about the Burned Rider, I imagine the Free Cities want to use the dragons. Braavos and Dorne are not attending, apparently they think they are safe from whatever he may do." Rhaena said, looking up at Lyonel with impassive eyes
"Then you can go and waste your time asking the Dornish for peace if you wish, my friend. For all the good it will do. If they are preparing an army for war, I doubt they want peace." She said and looked at the map, she had thought about trying to conquer Dorne for some time, doing what all of her forefathers had failed to do, even Aegon I, if she did it, she would be remembered more than she already would be. Perhaps she had been at relative peace for too long.

Lyonel followed her gaze and asked, "It is strange for the Dornish to believe themselves immune to the wrath of the Burned Man. If he were to move across the sea they would be a logical choice for an invasion" He moved slightly and took a deep breath. "Though it makes sense why Braavos thinks themselves free. They have always had an arrogance about themselves. Holding their precious city and Bank above reproach."

"I'd like to see gold stop dragon fire." Rhaena replied with a menacing smile. "I hope braavos' arrogance will not be their downfall. The free city alliance said that if we did not want to ally with them, then they would pay off the last chunk of our debt to the iron bank, in exchange for the use of two dragons." She informed him, "I will have to set you limits on what you can offer when you go, and I will send you with a dragon or two. Just in case. I had considered going myself but if dorne are playing up, I will be needed here."

Lyonel nodded slowly, "It will be my honor my queen. Do you wish me to make no promises but gather the knowledge I can? Or do you have parameters I am allowed to accept." He tilted his head, and his hand grasped the cane tight in his hand. "Do you want us to enter into this alliance, or hold back?

"That depends what they can bring to the table," Rhaena said, "I won't enter into alliances that cripple the realm, but this burned man, is no doubt quite the problem, the more people against him, on one side, the better, we can already go back to no alliance once our common enemy us gone."

"Do you think it wise to entertain two possible wars at the same time?" Lyonel asked. And it was quite clear from his tone that he did not think that."

"That is why I need peace with dorne or to wipe them out quickly, I don't have time to fuck around with them anymore." Rhaena said, looking frustrated.

"I will make it my duty my queen. I will do everything within my power to deliver you the peace you require." Lyonel replied and gave her a warm smile. "Though if I fail the best time to take Dorne is when the Burned man is busy with his northern Neighbors. When he can not take advantage of our distraction."

"Without us, our northern neighbours will be of little use against the burned man," Rhaena pointed out, "do what you can, they said they would pay off our debt for the use of two of my dragons and riders, but I suspect there will be more than that, we are in a much better position. I think the meeting is more to discuss what can be done about the rider than what we get for helping. I will send Baelon with you, he should be able to fly you there, and perhaps another rider, maybe Maegor."

Lyonel nodded, "That makes good sense my queen." He closed his lips, and then added, "May I make one request before I leave. My son Edgar has pressed me and wishes to try and earn a dragon."

"Seems many suddenly wish to tame them," Rhaena said, "Edgar can join the orderly queue forming at the docks for the people before him to tame on or die," Rhaena replied and then tilted her head, "Did you never think to try and tame one? "

Lyonel looked sad at the question and rubbed his leg. "It was all I dreamed of before I became a cripple. After that I was not sure I would be able to stand the strain on my leg. And I admit to being concerned about bonding a dragon. Whether a dragon would sense my weakness and reject me."

"Dragons respond better to mental strength, so I do not think that would have been a problem, though perhaps it was wise of you, if you go in there thinking you can not tame one you certainly would not. But having a dragon would more than made up for your crippled leg, physically speaking." Rhaena said, but waived the issue, "your son will receive the same ultimatum everyone does, return with a dragon, or do not return at all if he wishes to go, though if he does not manage to tame one, it is likely he will be killed in the attempt anyway. But he has my leave to go when we know the fates of the two already there."

"Thank you my queen." Lyonel bowed as he spoke. "Your words are truly music to me. Is there anything else or should I prepare for my trip?"

"No, tell Baelon to go with you, and do be careful, Lyonel, I'd be slightly irked if you died," she said with a smile.

After received word that the Queen was free, Alysanne arrived at her private solar.
She wore a demure dress of white and silver, a falcon stitched to the front, and on her head was a ring of daisies. She waited patiently to be let in.

In direct contrast, Rhaena was wearing full leather, having recently been flying, her sword on her hip, the crown of King aegon on her head.
"Yes?" She asked, apparently not in the best of moods.

"Greetings, your Grace," Alysanne said when she entered, curtsying politely. "Is now not a good time?"

"As good as any," she said, somewhat shortly, but not aggressive, and motioned to a seat. "Wine?"

"Watered wine, please," Alysanne requested, sitting down across from the queen. "To be honest, your Grace, I haven't come to speak to you about anything politically important or so. I just... well, you were my mother's best friend."

"I was," she said, getting some watered wine for Alysanne brought and a cup of full wine for herself, "I cannot imagine you remember her well."

"I have no memories at all of her," Alysanne said with a sad shake of her head, before taking the cup with a thankful nod. "My father tells me all about her but he only knew her for a short time. I was hoping to find out more about my mother from those who knew her best."

"I grew up with your mother, she was someone I could trust, and as you can imagine with this family, that is Jo easy thing, and make no mistake, she was my family, it was not through whimsy that I said she was more like my sister," Rhaena said honestly, taking a sip of wine, when you had as many meetings and audiences as she did, you learnt not to gulp. "I owe her my life, my throne, in a way, we disagreed, she didn't like a lot of what I did, but she was honest with me, and that is worth all the dragons,"

"I suppose the best friends are always those that can criticize one when it is is necessary, yet still remain loyal no matter what," Alysanne mused, her voice holding both pride and sadness regarding her mother.
"I... may I ask your Grace in what way my mother aided you in getting your throne? I have asked father before, yet he has always declined to mention anything in particular."

"I am frankly astounded you do not know," Rhaena said, face not showing much surprise however, "She and Baelon Waters killed the Maekar the Traitor."
