"Many worthy dragonriding members of the family tried to deny me my throne," She said, "Loyalty is worth more to me in a dragonrider than blood, what makes you worthy?" She knew Valarr, and Orys had been fighting her battles for years, this woman she knew only as someone she did not know at all, who was the daughter of a traitor she had pardoned, and she was wary of traitor's blood.

That couldn't be happening, Valarr was not believing. The queen had goven her veredict, who was his sister to defy her most beautiful grace.
"Aelys, don't ..." He muttered.

"It is my destiny, Your Grace," Aelys replied. "You may not know me personally, but you do know my brother well, and he will vouch for me that I am honourable and true."

"To whom?" She asked, raising an eyebrow, and looking at Valarr, whether for confirmation or explanation was to be decided.

"You do not strike me as someone who cares for grovelling, Your Grace, so I took it to go without saying that I am loyal to the crown," Aelys answered. "Please forgive me my ignorance of court etiquette, but I believe that I would better show my loyalty and usefulness through deeds, rather than words. However, if specific words are required, I need only know what they are."

Valarr was in sock, his eyes were wide. That couldn't be happening, he had to think of something quickly.
"Pardon her, your grace. My sister is overreacting over her grief, since I've met her she dreamed of being a rider." He said, looking at his sister and mouthing Now, you shut up! "But your grace decision is wise, it would be dangerous for all of us, if more than two journeyed to Dragonstone. And she is very young, there's still much time for her to prove her loyalty for you, as I did."
He lowered his head, hoping it would have been enough.

Aelys looked incredulously at Valarr. As far as she had been aware, the Queen had been asking her questions, and she had answered them as plainly and truthfully as she could. She was not sure what she had done wrong.

Rhaena held up a hand for Valarr to cease his, admittedly long tirade, "When Lord Dondarion and looked at Aelys, "We see it is folly to give a dragon to someone we know little of," Rhaena said, looking down at the girl with more respect now, "This is not a no, you say you are a warrior? Prove it. This is a wait."

Aelys listened to the Queen, and nodded when she had finished.
"I understand, Your Grace. I will endeavour to prove myself by the time my brother returns from his own quest."

"Good," Rhaena said, "Until such a time, you are welcome to remain in King's Landing."

"Thank you, Your Grace," Aelys said, with a bow. "May I take my leave?"

Rhaena waved her away and beckoned for the next petition.

Aelys bowed again, and strode out, not waiting for Valarr.

Jaecarys looked around to see where his brother were as he himself had been concentrating on the petitions and lost sight of him. Ser Maeron was standing in a corner of the throne room, whispering in the ear of a giggling girl. He had on arm around her waist but his hand slipped lower as Jaecarys watched him. Maeron was clearly not paying attention to anything happening on the Iron Throne. all his attention on the girl.

Jaecarys rolled his eyes and let out a quiet sigh as his eyes fell upon his brother, they had arrived only a few hours ago and already his brother had begun trying to feel his way down a girl's body. This wasn't the common girls of Cuy or the quiet girls that came to visit at times, they were in King's Landing and only a few steps away the Queen of Westeros sat upon her throne. Maeron was only making a fool of himself, which would bring shame to himself, their father and in the end their household. He moved through the crowd toward his brother, trying his best to not draw his attention to them.
"It's your time to go and speak to the Queen, you fool" he said with a hushed voice. "You have to say goodbye to your new company and make your way to stand before the Iron Throne unless you wish to shame Mother and Father."

Maeron glared at his brother, as the girl wriggled free of his embrace and hurried away, brushing down her skirts as she went. "Spoilsport. Do you have milk in your veins instead of blood? You sure it's us next? I never heard the herald announcing us." He yawned. "Ugh...what a bore. What do you even want from the Queen?"

Jaecarys ignored the insult toward his blood as this was not the time nor the place to get into bickering with his brother. He looked a little unsure as Maeron asked if it was their time to go forward next, but straightened himself up and decided that it was not the time for second-guessing either.
"We have come here to learn and to honor our house which means that we should present ourselves before the Queen as we have arrived, not ask for favors and prizes. And as heir to House Targaryen of Sunhouse, I believe you should present yourself before me, which was why I came over here. You can find girls to entertain you later, now it's time to do your duty." he said in a hushed voice, hoping that none would hear words that could be interpreted as scolding.

"Father should present us," Maeron grumbled. "That would be more proper. He knows the Queen already. We don't." Yet he took a step forward, hesitant.

Jaecarys thought about Maeron's words, wondering if his brother was right, but like he had told his mother; he wanted to step out under his father's shadow and therefore wanted to present himself before the Queen and swear his allegiance to her as his own man. He nodded toward Maeron to encourage him to step forward, so that the heir came before the second son and not the other way around.
"Go ahead, Maeron. Present yourself to the Queen, and please don't embarrass our house." he mumbled quietly to himself.

So Maeron stepped forward and was presented by the herald as "Ser Maeron Targaryen, son of Lord Baelon Targaryen and Lady Arwyn Cuy, heir to Sun House."
Maeron knelt gracefully to the queen, saying "I come to present my lady mother's compliments to the crown and to ask if I may be of service. My brother has come with me."

Jaecarys tried his best to hide his frown upon his face as Maeron mentioned his presence as well, wanting to have presented and introduced himself to the Queen as a man, not the younger brother of Maeron. This was probably the proper way to go about the business here in King's Landing, but Jaecarys wasn't interested in doing things the proper way, as that would only put him in the shadows to those that spoke and introduced him. He remained where he stood and waited to see what the Queen said, before taking a step forward.

"What services do you think I have been of from you," The Queen asked, looking down, not glancing away from Maeron, "Does your father have no use for you?"

Maeron looked up at his queen but did not rise. "That is for my father to say, Your Grace. My mother, Lady Arwyn, said that it was time my brother and I learned the ways of the court. So here we are."

"Yes, here you are," Rhaena said, adopting a critical eye, "And what skills do you possess to benefit the crown?"
