"Come in!" he heard his sister call out. When Morys entered the room, he found it looking as though it had been ransacked by someone looking for hidden valuables. Clothes of all kinds were strewn across every piece of furniture there was, and random objects littered the floor; books, knives, small glass bottles of scented oils and perfumes, and perhaps even poison.
"I'm packing," Valaena's voice said again, and Morys realized she was inside the walk-in closet that she'd convinced Prince Trystane to have constructed in her apartments. "That one, and that one too," she said, clearly speaking to the servants who were packing her travel bags for the journey to Skyreach and the campaign afterward.

Morys blinked in surprise at seeing the state her chambers were in, looking about the room and stepping over things carefully as he glanced towards her closet. "Packing....right." Morys said, looking like he was trying not to laugh and smiling instead.
"What is it you're packing for, that it takes this much..." he paused, trying to think of the word, "packing?"

"Skyreach, of course," she replied, perplexed. "The Prince said you would be present as well," she added.

"I see..." morys said with a nod, his face becoming a bit more serious, "Yes I'll be flying there as well...though I'm some what doubtful I'll need much..." he said as he rewith his hand on one of the pieces of furniture.
"I take it you lost something while packing..." he said as he patted the chair, looking to the other things scattered about, "Otherwise I doubt this look will catch on much with mnay nobles." He said as he grinned, showing he was only joking about that.

She just stared blankly at him. She had never really understood either of her half-brothers, but she had always been polite and even friendly, for their mother's sake if nothing else.
"I should not wish to be unprepared, and we may be in the Stormlands for quite a while if papa's plan goes off without issue," she replied.

"Yes, that sounds like a pretty good idea. Wouldn't want to be unprepared and all..." morys said, eyes darting away a moment as he stood with his hand rest I g on the chair a bit longer, feeling the silence weigh in the conversation.
"So how do you feel about this whole thing, Valaena?" Morys asked, sounding curious as he asked and trying his best to laugh off the awkwardness of the previous conversation, "Must be quite exciting. Getting to fly off to parts unknown."

"We are doing our duty to Dorne, as anynof our people would do when asked," she said, somewhat naïvely. "Mother is not happy about it."

"We are her children, and the future of dorne's dragon riders, in case she forgot to tell you again." Morys said jokingly, taking a seat as he leaned back a bit, "I'd be more concerned if she was completely fine with us flying into things like this. Or god forbid, happy about it."

"I suppose," Valaena replied, returning to the closet to continue packing. She'd always been given more freedom and independence than her siblings, despite being the eldest and a girl besides. Sometimes she thought that her mother had coddled the boys far too much, but it was not her place to make a comment. It was a man's place to ride into battle, even a woman's place sometimes, in Dorne, and she could not think of a man she had ever met who would admit to caring about his mother's concerns.
"We are not children, Morys, we are a man and a woman grown. Mother ought to remember that more often," she added pointedly.

"I know, Valaena. I admit, I do agree..." Morys said as he watched his sister disappeared once more into the closet, "Mother can be a bit...much. She means well though." Morys admitted as he leaned forward a bit, hands locking together in front of him. "I would be lying if I said a part of me wasn't excited about what is to come..."

"I am excited as well. The Stormlanders will pay for what they did to our grandmother's family. Perhaps Nymeraxes and I distinguish ourselves, I shall be awarded some title by the Princess. The Wyls are all dead, and I do have my own claim on Yronwood, through mother. Uncle Godfrey's claim is better, to be sure, but when he dies the rightful lordship of Yronwood will pass to Lord Blackmont. He will not challenge a dragon, I think," she replied with a toothy smile, imagining the possibilities.

"I will simply be glad to have the stormlanders away from our doorstep." Morys said with a nod, "Honors and titles in battle are just a bonus. Being made the lady of yronwood or wyl though, would be a marvelous gift you deserve." he commented as he gave an agreeing nod to her idea.
Morys had always felt somewhat guilty about his sister, he had been given title and lands, while she had not. Someday he knew that would change, but still, he couldn't help reflect upon it. "I would be careful about planning too far ahead, dear sister. Confidence can often be the opening act for the fall."
