The first purchase of Kesi's in the city of Braavos.
When bought and before the children were moved in Kesi repainted the whole of the inside in pale colours. Over the years the home has changed several times, as Kesi's empire of trade grew she bought more for the house to make it into a place that the children could grow safely in.
The house currently has one pet, the dog belonging to Rosey.

Kesi returned after a trip away.
She looked as young as usual and her hair was mainly blonde, but she had been unable to stay away from a colour that she was used to and so had dyed her tips blue.
"Rosey? Gendry?" She called, after putting her small travelling back aside.

She was greeted affectionately by the dog, who was the pup of Rosey's original pet from years ago. But at first there was no sign of her adopted children. And then she heard footsteps. Gendry came down the stairs with a grin, though, like many young men, he didn't run forward to hug her.
"Mother," he said warmly. "How did your affairs go? Rosey has gone to the market. One of the stall owners has been cheating the servants."

Kesi smiled at her son, after she duly greeted the dog.
"They were well enough. It is better to be back though. How badly were they cheated?"

"Quite badly, I think. Rosey thought they might have been slipping weights in the scales when the servants buy fruit. She's gone to shout at them. You know how she is when it comes to fair prices." He grinned. They both knew that Rosey's early poverty had given her a healthy respect for money. She was always trying to get a good bargain, even now, and would not countenance overpricing in any way,

"Well... I would so hate to go and destroy her fun." Kesi said. "You are looking well jariri. Have you both been alright while I was away?"
Despite not having been gone long Kesi hated leaving them for any amount of time.

"Yes. We've had no trouble," Gendry confirmed. "Only silly things like the stallholders. Nothing really bad has happened." He stopped, seemingly lost in thought for a moment. He couldn't really remember his past, but there was an awareness of cold and hunger he had never quite forgotten even though he could no longer remember the cause. "Where have you been?"

"I was in Gulltown." She said. "You remember when I took you there so that we could see the shop opening?"
She went into a room and sat on the comfortable sofa that was there.
"I might leave you and Rosey to do the checks."

"Oh. We can do that. Do you want to travel more?" Gendry asked. "We're old enough to look after ourselves now. I'm no warrior, but I've skill enough to protect us."

"Yes and no." Kesi answered. "There is news from the East of a terrible thing coming and I do not want you or Rosey hurt by it. I also want to see if the rumours are true."
She smiled slightly, "I know that you are able, and I know that you think you are old enough jariri but you are still my little children, and I am afraid you always will be."

"But we're grown up now," he said. "What's the thing in the East? I heard it was a monster. A monster with wings." He frowned, trying to remember something and failing. "Do we have to run away?"

"It is." Kesi said with a shudder. She had hoped that her days of seeing the beasts were behind her but clearly they werent.
"I do not know yet. I want to stay but it depends on what the Sealord decides to do before the thing gets here."
She thought for a moment.
"I will try and get an audience and maybe I can ask him."

"We can't stay if it's dangerous," Gendry pointed out. "We can't find monsters, Mother. Wont the Sealord want to protect his people? I would, if I were him."

"If only it was that simple Gendry." Kesi said. "We could be in danger wherever we go. And if we flee here and where we make our home is the next one attacked? I saw one of my sons burn. I won't watch you be hurt."

He flinched at the mention of the boy he had never met. He hated reminders of Kesi's tragic past. "We can't run forever, I know, in case we fall off the edge of the world," he said thoughtfully. "But what can we do?" He thought for a moment. "Are you powers strong enough to kill the dangerous thing?"

"Maybe. But if it is true and it is Balerion... I don't know if I want to find out when facing him. I will try and find out if I can somehow protect this house from it." She said.

Gendry scowled. "I don't understand. I heard Balerion was one of the Valyrian gods. Mother. Could the danger be from a god come to life? That sounds like a story."

"It could be." Kesi said thoughtfully, and then she gave a small smile. "I think that we should find your sister and go for a walk, don't you? Go and find something to snack on."

"If you like," Gendry said. "But you only just got home. Are you not tired?" He looked anxiously at her, well aware that she was not so young now.

"Do not question your mother." Kesi said but she smiled. "I am fine Jariri. I am not too old to cease running around yet."

"But I don't want you to. You deserve to leave in peace and happiness. I want you to be away from the horrid thing. Even if we have to leave here."

"Oh Gendry, my silly boy." Kesi said and weather he wanted it or not the boy received a cuddle from her.
"I am stronger then you think you know. I am not going to leave you and Rosey, want it or not."

"We don't want you to. But we don't want you to stop your own life for us, either. We're grown up now. Rosey's been a woman grown for almost ten years and I'm not so much younger. We're not children," he said. "We have to protect you too."

"You know that I am not going to allow you to protect me." Kesi said. "Come on, I want a walk. Are you coming or no?"

"I'll come," he said. "Just don't embarrass me by being all motherly in public." He grinned boyishly at her. "To the market, then?"
