Character Creation
All player characters who appear in Dragons of Westeros will be of Targaryen heritage. They will be either trueborn Targaryens, acknowledged Targaryen bastards (think of characters such as Bloodraven or Daemon Blackfyre), or "seeds" - the children of common girls fathered by Targaryen men. Please note that admin approval will be particularly required for seeds due to the restrictive nature of playing lowborn characters in a game dominated by the royal family. Additionally, if you wish to play a seed you must RP taming your dragon.
Please read the Available Characters thread. Alternatives may be permitted in the right circumstances. Please post in the Character Reservations thread as well.
At the moment the majority of Targaryen roles have been claimed, with the exception of Prince Aenar's son, but there is still room for many Targaryen bastards, as well as Harroways, Masseys and Velaryons, who are all part of the Targaryen bloodline.
As well as their PC, players will also control their dragon. This will be explained later in this thread. You should state in your character history whether the dragon was given to them from an egg, or if they tamed an adult dragon. If the character tamed the dragon, please provide some details on this in your history (it does not have to be long).
You may play a Targaryen with no dragon, or a hatchling, if you really want to, but please bear in mind that we encourage most people to take dragons, so you might find yourself at a disadvantage. Furthermore, if you have already bonded with a hatchling, you would find it much harder to tame an older dragon, or else you'd have to wait until he/she is big enough to ride. I don't encourage this but it will be permitted so we don't alienate people who don't like dragons. Although the name of the site is a pretty big clue!
All characters must fit into the current genealogy. We have laid out some initial slots as suggestions for the immediate family members but some of the others have been left blank to allow for extra customisation. Extra siblings may be created in some circumstances, with our approval.
Seconds will not be included in the game as yet. We will consider incorporating seconds if there seems to be a need for them later, but will discuss that if the time comes.
Finally, please ensure that the character you choose will be suited to your schedule. The person who plays the Prince of Dragonstone will need to be active.
The character creation template is in the post. Please copy and paste this sheet, with your profile information, into a new thread in the Characters subboard for approval. I have altered some of the usual information given in profiles as I think region and reputation are unnecessary in this game and I think personality is a good one to include. The skills for human characters follow LOW's rules for 1sts.
Please include your dragon's information, explained below, in a separate post underneath the profile for your human character.
Your profile will be read by the admins who will approve it or suggest any necessary changes. Once you have been approved, you are free to post!
