Westerosi NPCs:
Prince Traegon Targaryen: (17)Second son of Queen Rhaena Targaryen, Traegon is known as a skilled jouster and swordsman. Though a dragon egg hatched for him when he was four years old, he showed little interest in the dragon itself, beyond naming it
Myrax in honor of the legendary dragon ridden by Queen Rhaenys of old. He was sent to Casterly Rock at ten, to squire for Ser Jayson Lannister, the Warden of the West, and he took to his knightly training instantly. It is said that he loves nothing more than jousting, and indeed he is well known on the tournament circuit, must to his mother's displeasure. He does not particularly care for any of his siblings, instead having forged a much closer brotherly relationship with Lord Lyonel Lannister of Casterly Rock, with whom he was of an age. He was knighted at sixteen by Ser Jayson Lannister, and immediately began touring Westeros to compete in tournaments, with a team of young knights, both friends and retainers, trailing after him. He wins far more often than he loses (a small consolation to his mother) and so his expenses are minimal compared to those of his elder brother, but while has ridden his dragon two or three times, he has shown almost no interest in doing so again. In stark contrast to his apparent distain for Dragons, the Prince is widely known for his passion in animal breeding; he has spent vast sums of his mother's money on some of the best hounds, horses, and hawks in Westeros, and is is an avid hunter, rider, and hawker. When he is in the capital and not on the tournament circuit, he spends most of his time in the Kingswood either hunting or hawking with Beron Stark, Lord Lyonel Lannister, and the retinue of young lordlings that inevitably follow everywhere a young Prince goes.
Prince Lucerys Targaryen: (51)Lucerys Targaryen is the Queen's Master of Laws in King's Landing; he was the Lord of Greyhall until last year, when he ceded control of that lordship to his son and heir, Ser Maeron Targaryen. He rides the dragon
Vhagar and is known for the acuity of his mind, as well as his superb skills on dragon and horseback.
Lord Jaymes Tyrell: (44)Jaymes Tyrell has served the Queen as Hand for fifteen years, the office bestowed on him as a reward for House Tyrell's refusal to support Maekar; no other Lord told the usurper's dragon riders so pointedly to fuck themselves as did House Tyrell, and so the young heir to Highgarden became Hand to the young Queen of Westeros. He has managed the realm capably since then, proving remarkably adept at statecraft; Queen Rhaena's heavy-handedness has been felt throughout the realm, though where it has chafed her Hand was immediately present to smooth over disgruntled lords and to resolve landed disputes. He quelled one short rebellion against Rheana's rule in 91 AL, brutally crushing a pocket of men in the Reach who once again declared the Faith Militant lived to throw off the yoke of Targaryen tyranny. The Lord Hand is a deliberate man, slow to speak, though he is quick of mind and rarely gives his opinion until believes he has heard enough to decide properly.
Lord Arthur Arryn: (62) Aged lord of the Vale, Lord Arthur takes less of an active role and allows his son Ser Edmyn to manage his domains. He nurses a grudge against Queen Rhaena for the death of King Aegon, his former squire, as well as for not pushing harder to secure his granddaughter Alysanne's claim to Driftmark. He dotes on his granddaughter, but is rather gruff with everyone else.
Lord Lyonel Lannister: (19)Young lord of Casterly Rock, Lord Lyonel only reached his majority and assumed the titles of Lord of Casterly Rock and Shield of Lannisport two years ago. His step-father, Ser Jayson Lannister, has thus far refused to relinquish the title of Warden of the West, and has also retained the Valyrian greatsword called
Brightroar, both of which are bitter points of contention between Lord Lyonel and his mother, who sided with her husband over her son in the disagreement. He has spent the past year at court in King's Landing, having refused to take a hand in managing his domains until he is granted the honors he believes are rightfully his.
Beron Stark: (29)The heir to Winterfell and the North, Beron Stark was sent south by his father in 96 AL, to represent the North in the capital; he came with his wife, and two children; a girl of four and his heir, of two. He resides primarily in his family's walled manse on Visenya's hill in the shadow of the Royal Academy, and is known to be friendly with Lord Lyonel Lannister and Prince Traegon Targaryen, drinking and dicing with the former, and hunting and hawking with the latter.
Lord Jacaerys Velaryon: (33)Jacaerys Velaryon bonded the dragon
Arrax in 81 AL, six months before his sister Daenerys was killed in Essos. With the aid of his uncle Janos, and his brother Monterys, Jacaerys seized Driftmark from the castellan appointed by Daenerys' husband, and claimed the titles Master of Driftmark and Lord of the Tides for himself, by right of blood. He married the youngest sister of Lady Tysha Lannister the following year, and has ruled Driftmark since. He rarely leaves the island, preferring to manage his own holdings and to not insult the queen by flaunting his conquest of Driftmark at her court. He is known to be friendly and jovial with the less refined men in his service, though he has a sharp temper and his biting sarcasm is commonly avoided in High Tide.
Lord Monterys Velaryon: (30)Monterys Velaryon was betrothed by his sister to Rhaenyra Sunglass in 80 AL, though they did not marry until the following year, after Monterys had bonded the dragon
Servys. He convinced his father-in-law to aid his brother Jacaerys in the siezure of Driftmark from the Arryns in 83 AL, the same year that his wife's young brother succumbed to illness and died. His wife's father died in 84, and Monterys became Lord of Sweetport Sound. Similarly to his brother, Monterys also tends to keep to his seat at Sweetport Sound, managing his holdings capably over the years he has ruled. He is known to be quiet and thoughtful, and while some think that he merely follows his brother's lead without thinking, few realize the cunning mind that his mild demeanor conceals.
Lord Cortnay Baratheon: (42)The Lord of Yronwood is a grizzled man, scarred and angry from a lifetime spent fighting Dornish in the mountains He rules Yronwood with an iron fist, and often leads raids across the nearby border into Dorne, though he has been unable to expand his writ past the border of the mountains. He is tanned and freckled from the sun, with thinning black hair and a perpetually angry expression.
