The harbor of Pentos, bustling with activity and trade in daytime and drunken sailors at night.

Alexys made her way to the docks after night had fallen in search of the small merchant cog Sea Crow. She was wearing travel clothes, comfortable rather than expensive-looking, two swords fastened on her belt even though the long cloak she wore on her shoulders covered them with ease. There was a heavy pouch of gold in one of the pockets of the cloak, and a lighter one in the other.

She is informed that no ships will be departing in the direction she wants to go until Thursday, 6/19/2014.

Presuming that Alexys comes back on the day that the harbormaster told her the Sea Cow would be in port, she would find the ship's captain standing on the wharf, overseeing his men loading his cargo into the hold.

She approached the captain and greeted him to get his attention. "This ship goes to King's Landing, correct? When is it leaving?" she then asked.

"Day af'er t'morrow, mos' like," the captain said, squinting down at the girl who approached. "Migh' stop at Low Tide t'offload some cargo, which'd add a day t'the trip. Yer lookin' for passage, then?"

Alexys gave half a smirk at the mention of Low Tide. "I am indeed," she replied, and after pausing to think whether she would like to explain leaving alone to her mother or not, pulled out the fatter purse of money. "How about we depart as soon as you finish loading this cargo instead?" she asked, offering the man a smile that did not reach her eyes - they hardly ever did - but figured it did not matter much in this case.

"Aye, i'll be abou' a day an'a half till she's all loaded. Wouldn' be just sittin' here'f she was ready t'sail," he replied, rolling his eyes slightly. "Go'two cabins in th'back," he added, naming a price in silver that Alexys could easily afford.

What took a crew days to load up a small merchant ship Alexys did not know, but it appeared she would have to have that conversation with her mother after all. She frowned slightly at the prospect. "It seems I shall have to return in a day and a half, then," she said. "I'll have the bigger one." She turned and left the docks.

The captain nodded, and took her money, with another roll of his eyes. Merchant ships left when they were ready, not when their passengers wanted. When Alexys returned, she took up residence in the cabin, and the heavy cog beat a westerly course out into the Narrow Sea, heading for the Gullet.
