Appearance: Maegor has strong Valyrian features much like his mother. He has very long silver hair which drapes loosely down past his shoulders. His eyes are a deep violet and his skin is pale. He wears very dark clothing in offset to his pale skin. Though perhaps a beautiful man, years of excessive drinking have left Maegor to appear tiresome. Sunken eyes and flushed cheeks are a sign of these bad habits that detract from his natural beauty. He is thin and of average height.
Personality: Once a prodigious young man, in recent years Maegor has been overcome with many vices of the material world. A drunk and a whoremonger, Maegor prefers the simple pleasures in life over the intricacies of politics. Though he keeps residence in King's Landing, he rarely attends court or other state functions. He is an avid fan of poetry and a novice lyre player.
Background: Raised almost solely by his mother Prince Maegor was instilled with a strong Valyrian tradition from a young age. Harsh discipline and long nights of study marked his childhood and such a Spartan approach to education proved fruitful as Maegor excelled in all his pursuits.
In 88AL Lord Jaymes Tyrell became the new Hand to the Queen. To facilitate good relationships and ensure the stability of the crown, Maegor was sent to Highgarden where he squired for Ser Garen Tyrell, the Hand's brother. In contrast to his stern upbringing under his mother, Maegor was pampered in Highgarden for his position as Crown Prince. With free reign to do as he pleased without consequence, Maegor developed habits for partying, drinking and even whoring. His studies suffered as a result of his new found leisure activites and the once promising young prince was now an average student at best. During his time in Highgarden Maegor became good friends with Meryn Tyrell and stole his sister Cassana's first kiss.
Returning to King's Landing as a less than respectable knight, Maegor frequently quarreled with his mother as her expectations for the Crown Prince contrasted with Maegor's more hassle-free lifestyle of recent years. One such argument resulted in the renaming of Maegor's dragon Brightfyre to Strongwine, an act of petty rebellion.
Regardless of his mother's disapporval, Prince Maegor spends most of his time around King's Landing where he drinks, whores, hunts, plays music, recites poetry and discusses philosophy with those that care to listen.
