Named after the Free Folk tribe that inhabits it, the Valley of Thenn is a large swathe of land in the far north, heated by volcanic vents and springs, it is the most hospitable land beyond the Wall. The Thenn are a fierce, intelligent tribe of Free Folk, being the only ones capable of metallurgy and with a structured leadership. The Thenn are led by their Magnar and wield copper weapons and armor when going to war, and are the largest threat to the Night's Watch. Upon his arrival and feat of earning the allegiance of the Thenn, Varryn now resides in the valley in a home made of logs, overlooking the village. Varryn's wildling army usually resides in the lands near and outside of the valley, far from the prying eyes of the Night's Watch.
