Personality: Lyonel is an extremely affable man. He is extremely polite, but still willing to crack a ribald joke when the moment arrives. He always has a smile and a pleasant word for every one he meets. After one meeting he never forgets a name or face. No matter if you are a Lord of the Free Cities or maid in the red keep or a fishmonger from Flea's Bottom Lord Lyonel has time for a story, and a hand shake. He has become known for his long and detailed stories, that can both crack an audience into laughter, or make them tear up with sympathy.
Background: Lyonel had one desire as a small boy. He wanted to be the greatest warrior to ever be born. He trained for hours every day to become skilled, and dreamed of flying dragons. Then he was injured in the Siege of Harrenhal. He took two flaming arrows to his right leg. It very nearly killed him. It took two years for Lyonel to heal enough to walk, and every step he has taken since that fateful day has caused him pain.
Lyonel adapted well to his new fate, and set out to be the best lord he could even if his dreams would never come true. He focused on learning how to administer his lands, and decided that court was the best place for him to make a mark on the world. He arrived as a still young man, and his skill set earned him quite a reputation at the court.
Eventually he came to the attention of the Queen. He became one of her most trusted advisers. Lyonel had many skills that made him extremely useful to the Queen. And he had a true gift for diplomacy. He negotiated several treaties on the queen's behalf and all of them greatly benefited the realm.
Lyonel married Ariane Tyrell the sister of Lord Jaymes Tyrell, the Queen's hand. They have had five children, four sons and one daughter. The eldest son is fifteen, and is named Edgar, then is Jaymes at ten, then Derryn at eight, then Olyvia at six, and the youngest is Samforth at 4.
