I think we should also have a poll for what Vira's name should be.

What is dead may never die, but rises again to mock you and your silly naming choices.

I hate you deeply and truly. Everyone, Vira's name has precedent! Dany named her dragons Drogon (for Drogo) and Viserion (for Viserys) and Rhaegal (for Rhaegar)! That's precedent for naming a dragon, not adopting a surname. That'd be like my dad dying and calling myself Zack Josephcarion. If I was Maekar Id just be embarrassed in the Seven Hells. I almost want you to keep it, horrible as it is, just to see Sam have to make NPCs call you that with a straight face.

Somewhere, deep in the seven hells, Hector is pointing to Maekar and every other Targaryen who arrives, and laughing his ass off.

Well, somewhere in balerion's black hall, Maegor is laughing his ass off as twisted demonic shadow creatures rip hector apart for all eternity, Why we assume the seven if right

I feel like Vira should call her son, if she has one by Maekar, Maekarion, as per Cleopatra calling her son Caesarion To be honest, I think anyone can use whatever name they want as long as they don't use an established name they have no "lawful" right to. So, Vira calling herself Targaryen wouldn't go down too well unless Maekar had won and legitimised her, or if she wanted to make a claim in her own right, but any name that's not an actual house name is probably up for grabs.

But he wasn't your dad or even you husband. Haha you were his mistress. It's just a little bizarre.
In the current climate, much like with Caesarian, it's also painting a giant target on your kid's forehead. She can absolutely use the name if she wishes Marie, I'm just explaining why I find it an odd choice.
And if anyone made it to the Seven Heavens, it was probably Ser Hector.

"The Culling" is what the smallfolks will probably call it, but the history books will probably be the War of Three Dragons. That has a nice ring to it.

Still weird, at least in the context of a peasant caring so much for a surname and understanding the idea of legacy in the first place.
