He has wavy, short hair the silver-golden color of House Targaryen which he is wears in an short-cropped but elegant style to match both his person as a warrior but also to keep his appearances as a member of the royal family. His chin is almost always clean-shaved which indicates that Daegar takes a special pride in looking the best that he can.
Personality:
Ser Daegar is a serious and quiet young man that rarely speaks unless spoken to first, though if that comes from being a Kingsguard or this being his actual personality is something that is talked about among the servants at the Red Keep. Looking at his appearances it is obvious that Daegar likes order and traditions, that things should look and be a certain way and he does speak out if he believes that tradition is ignored unless he is within the vicinity of the King, Queen or Crown Prince. There is a lot that indicates that Daegar is all looks and no brains, but should one get Daegar to open up himself they will learn that he can be a lot fun and that there is a lot more going on inside Daegar's thoughts than one might think. He has a certain eye for the oldest daughter of the King, which makes him feel more like a blabbing fool that is an embarrassment to himself and the name of the Kingsguard, so around her he is even more serious than the rest of the royal family.
Background:
Daegar was born in King's Landing and the Red Keep in 60 A.L, the youngest son of Prince Gaemon Targaryen and his wife, Lyanne Targaryen (nee. Karstark). Daegar grew up without a father since his father was killed in the war against the Faith Militant when he was but one years old, so his male role-models as a young kid was those of his cousins and especially Prince Aenar whom Daegar worshipped and took after in every way that Daegar found that he could get away with under the close watch of his mother. He and his older brothers wasn't that close as children, both because of the age difference but also because the difference in their personalities. Where as his oldest brother Varryn spent most of his time in the company of the dragons, Daegar divided his time between the training yard, learning his way with a sword and other martial skills which seemed something of use in the eyes of the young boy, and in the back of the court, listening to his older cousins and their fathers as they handled the business of running the kingdom during the war with the Faith Militant.
Daegar was fifteen at the time, serving the brother of Lord Velaryon as a squire and was just at the end of his service, when the news of King Maegor I's death and the coronation of King Maegor II that were to be held in King's Landing. (Pre-Event RP will be filled in).
Daegar believed that even if Prince Aenar would make a better king than Prince Maegor, there was still something horribly wrong as sending dragon against dragon in such a manner. He had never been much around living dragons, but having watched them at a distance he understood their beauty and the responsibility that came with riding one. He swore then that he would never ride a dragon against another member of his family, and decided that he would honor the memory he held of Prince Aenar by asking for King Maegor to accept him as a member of his Kingsguard. The King refused at first, thinking that the young boy was not much more than just that, but Daegar was persistent and after two years, Daegar swore the oath of fealty and service as a Kingsguard.
