Well folks, it’s no secret after this week that a few changes need to be made around here. With the new work schedule I can no longer be around to reliably serve as one of the creative driving forces for the game. I have no interest in abandoning you all or leaving the game high and dry, so Marie and I have come to a decision:
I will be scrapping my Arc 3 plot for the moment and we will be having a time jump at the end of Arc 2, which will end when Rhaena takes the throne and has tied up all the loose ends to her satisfaction. We haven’t decided yet how long the time jump will be, but are leaning towards 17 years. That will mean an epilogue with the updated history of your current characters (which you will, of course, have input in), the option to take on a new character or create an entirely new descendant (age 17 or younger), and a new setting which reflects the actions you’ve taken in the game up to this point.
At that point I will also be stepping down as co-admin, though remaining as a character and staff member in the new setting, which we are very excited about. Sam (Maekar) will be stepping up as my replacement. With his wealth of experience and similar adminning philosphy, I am certain the game is being left in capable hands. I have full confidence in the game’s future and I think you folks will enjoy the setting we have cooked up. I have enjoyed my time as The Gambler and thank you all for your patience and understanding.

I'm sorry it came to this but we shall survive and hopefully move on to bigger and better things.  Just for the record, I would advise not spending any points at the moment. I hope to do another round of skill points for Arc 2 which can be put them towards Time Jump characters, whether old or now. Everyone surviving still has the chance to act if they'd like, of course, as we have not yet placed our Queen on the Iron Throne. |

The first thing that needs to happen is we need to determine who wants to play their current character, seventeen years into the future, and who will plan to make new characters. From there, we can take the next steps. Here is a list of the players whose characters are still alive and have the option to continue after the Time Jump.

Wait, we need to wait until Arc 2 is actually done to decide who still has the option of playing their old characters. A lot of people could die between now and Rhaena's rule being secure.

I did not say that. The epilogue is not a safe zone. Some of the players will not survive it, depending on their intended actions.

Just to be clear, Rhaena had some brilliant rolls at the start of her fight with Aegon. She used her special skills to put him at a disadvantage, which was a good idea on her part. It would have been a great deal harder for her had Aegon been at full strength when the physical combat began.

The Black Dread, The Gambler and I are currently doing our best to work within a difficult situation that we couldn't have foreseen when the game began. As none of us want the game to end, we will do our best to put ourselves in a position in which the game can continue with the least amount of confusion for everyone. A fresh start with a time jump seems the most practical way to do that whilst maintaining the original story and allowing original PCs to remain in the game. It's not the Arc 3 that we were intending, and I'm gutted that several things probably can't be RPed as fully as I'd like if we are to make a fresh start, but i think there's some interesting ideas in the process of being worked out. I would suggest that PCs with specific concerns or suggestions PM all admins to discuss. That will include Zack for the time being as he will retain his admin status until Arc 3 officially kicks off, in order to help with the transition as and when he can. He'll probably keep his admin ranking as well.

Jesus I can't even resign without a shitstorm. It seems clarification is needed, as no one seemed to read my original post properly. Maekar is not an admin yet and I will not be stepping down and promoting him until Arc 2 is over and the epilogue has been written. Arc 2 will not end until Rhaena's reign is secure and all loose ends have been tied up to my satisfaction. If that means a pile of character deaths and executions, then so be it. No one is safe and no one has plot armor. I GUARANTEE you that the epilogue will have some character deaths.
Also, Rhaena's fight with Aegon was rolled according to the book, so joking or otherwise, it's hard not to take that remark as a slight Aranya.
