Should do gods in general because the Roman versions > Greek versions and Egyptian gods > all

I'm sure other pantheons will be done some other time. As with the historical theme, it was decided that generic gods is too vague.

Can't believe I missed Batman Day and Harry Potter Day! Argh the one time Slade Wilson would have been an appropriate chat name!
I'm going to assume it's all the Greek deities, major and minor. So there's no reason Eris or Eros or Iris shouldn't be on the table.

Should do gods in general because the Roman versions > Greek versions and Egyptian gods > all In what world do roman gods > the greek ones? They're copied off them. We can do like Egyptian/Norse mythology at some point.

We can do like Egyptian/Norse mythology at some point. Because the Romans take the Greek gods but then also add way more badass gods of their own like Janus, Virtus, Disciplina, and Honos.

Okay, those are all like Tesco Value gods from Roman fanfiction and hardly make the original better.

The Romans basically looked at the Greeks, and their gods, and went "Yeah we can do better" and then proceeded to war-ify all of them and make them non-emo badasses.
Plus only about 100% of the other planets in our neighborhood are named after them. NBD
I don't see a planet Zeus anywhere.

It's called cultural appropriation. The US Army took lacrosse from the Indians, the British took polo from India, and the Romans took an entire pantheon from the Greeks. Woe to the vanquished, to the victor go the spoils, and keep what you kill. That's what makes it better

Also, is US army taking lacrosse from Indians here code for genocide?

Nope, much like polo, it was a sport appropriated by the officer corp of a conquering army. Modern lacrosse originated at West Point after the defeat of the Iroquois Confederation.
