"Thank you. I will be sure to keep you informed." Trystane grinned and raised his glass. "Will you drink a toast with me?" "I would be honoured to, your grace." Elyas replied, raising his glass to the level of the Prince's, and offering him a rare smile.

"What shall we toast? To Dorne? That is always a good idea, I think." The prince raised his glass. "Let us drink, and forget our troubles."

"What shall we toast? To Dorne? That is always a good idea, I think." The prince raised his glass. "Let us drink, and forget our troubles." Ser Elyas raised his glass. "To Dorne!" he exlaimed patriotically, downing the wine rapidly in one fell gulp. On reflection, it was a waste of excellent wine, and left him feeling momentarily nauseous.

Trystane looked at Elyas with amusement. "Go easy with that wine. I don't want you vomiting on my Myrish carpet. Good wine should be savoured, my friend."

Elyas coughed several times and looked slightly ill, but did not further decorate the Prince's carpet. "Apologies, your grace. It would appear I was over exuberant." he said, moderately embarrassed.

"I have seen much worse in my time," Trystane remarked. "Done much worse too, when I was a lad younger than yourself. Now I leave such things to my brother. Have you met our guest, by the way? The young princess?"

"I have seen much worse in my time," Trystane remarked. "Done much worse too, when I was a lad younger than yourself. Now I leave such things to my brother. Have you met our guest, by the way? The young princess?" Ser Elyas frowned, puzzled. "No..." While he was initially confused as to who Trystane could be referring to, he quickly put the pieces together. He knew of all the Dornish princesses, and they were not guests in their own capital...which left... "Do you mean to say that the Princess has welcomed a dragon to Dorne? After what they have done to this land!" Ser Elyas looked and sounded furious. (OOC: Not sure if my earlier post was clear when I said "further decorate the rug". Elyas hasn't thrown up, although that wording was ambiguous.)

"I would not call it welcomed," Trystane replied. "The girl came of her own will, though I think it foolish of her, She is watched at every moment but may make a useful hostage, in time. Mother believes it would be foolish simply to send her away. So she is here as our guest. For now. We are hoping that an observation of her behaviour will help us to learn whether she has any nefarious purpose in mind." OOC - yeah, I got that

"I hope that I do not encounter her." he offered, sounding extremely bitter and angry. Such was his anger he broke his earlier declaration to Aurane. "And I hope the Princess' decision to allow her such freedom when other Dornishmen who fought against her kin are denied it is vindicated over time." (OOC: Okay, great! Also you have a typo. )

OOC - sorry, I keep doing that! On reflection I should have given the sons different names!
Trystane frowned and indicated that his page should pour them some more wine. "You speak of your Fowler kin, I presume? I regret their present circumstances. Were I Prince of Dorne, I would decree the time for punishment to be over. But I am not Prince of Dorne, and I cannot overturn my mother's decree. She is capable of bearing a grudge for a very long time, I'm afraid. As for the Princess Daenya, I was rather hoping you would endeavour to be pleasant to her, should an encounter arise. Was I foolish to have this hope?"

Elyas replied after a hesitation. He looked displeased with his words however. "But that does not mean I will not do my utmost to avoid her." He sighed. "As for the other matter, I have already said to much. Yet...no...it is of no matter."

"Your concerns are valid," Trystane replied. "I am aware of them. it may be that the situation can be amended, but not today. Perhaps this princess will teach us what we need to know about dragons. In the meantime, I am afraid we must be hospitable. It is not in our interests for her to leave now."

In the meantime, I am afraid we must be hospitable. It is not in our interests for her to leave now." "Have not at least men been posted to watch her?" Elyas asked, less aggressive than before. "She might well be examining our defenses, or recruiting traitors from within. There is nothing a dragon will not do, no matter how dishonourable."

"She is always watched, though she may not know it yet. Mother will not allow a dragon to spy upon us, I promise you. The girl is very young. It is my hope she may be swayed to see matters from our own perspective, rather than that of her foul kin. That at least would be to our advantage."

"Her presence cannot but make me uneasy, your grace." Elyas replied. "If she is as young as you say, then surely her kin consented to her journey. I shall have to be doubly vigilant in my duties henceforth, lest she seek to harm your mother."

"You must do as you see fit," Trystane replied. "Your concern for my mother's safety is, of course, much appreciated. But she assures me that the girl came of her own will, and not at her father's bidding. Ser Aurane was present on the occasion and can confirm it. Unless she is a liar, the girl appears to have run away from home. Or flown, rather. I wonder what would prompt her to do such a thing."

"Is that not the story we would be told if she were here with malicious motives?" Elyas offered back. "Nothing a dragon says should be trusted."

Trystane smiled. "But perhaps we can, my friend. Perhaps we can. I have an notion, but I may not share it with you just yet." "Very well, I am sure you have good cause to do so." Elyas finished what remained of his second glass of wine, drunk much slower. "I believe I have taken up enough of your time, your grace. I am sure you have important matters to attend to and I would not wish to monopolize your time. Thank you for sharing your wine, it was excellent." Elyas set his glass down, rose and bowed to the Prince.

Ser Elyas replied. "Thank you." He favored the others present with a respectful nod before making his leave.
