"Don't dragons hunt?" Quentyn asked. "How do you even know he'll be where you left him? Doesn't he have a mind of his own? And you still can't leave the castle without my mother's permission, and guards."

"You can be my guard then," Daenya replied, fast running out of patience. "I told Vandaras to stay where he should and I am certain he will abide by that. I am doing this to protect your fellow lords." She put her hands on her hips. "They will die if we don't stop them, of that you can be sure. I doubt your mother is an idiot who wants to waste the lives of her people."

"Mother hates dragons," Quentyn pointed out. "How could she suffer one to live in her own land after your family kept trying to invade us? Is a dragon a dog to sit on command?"
He sighed. "Fine then, come to my chambers while I get what I'll need."
He urged her along.

"It seems promises in Dorne aren't what they are in the rest of the lands," Daenya replied, but she followed Quentyn.
"What do you need to fetch? We'll need horses for sure, and I want my sword."

"I need a sword too," he said. "A horse, and something that will offer more protection than court clothing."

"Then I will get my things and meet you by the stables," Daenya replied, swiftly turning to get changed into her leather armour, grab her bow, quiver and sword. She would meet him by the stables.

Prince Quentyn detailed two guards and a maid to follow Daenya and make sure she went nowhere without him.
