Appearance:

eyes of a darker shade of purplely-blue, Long golden-blonde/gold-brown tinted hair that’s usually restrained in some variety of braiding to her thighs, she often wears blacks or other dark colours, when not skulking she can be found in a feminine, curve flattering dress, however when working, traveling distance or relaxing shes more likely in a close fitting tunic and trousers for ease of movement

Over the years Yana has matured into a woman comfortable in her body and quite happy to take her amusements where ever she might find them or where it might be of use. Being of middle age and a reputable position she doesnt skulk about so much on the streets and rooftops, but is still silent footed and agile enough. She has kept up practicing her habits of keeping her eyes and ears open all the time, wandering the night and gathering of snippets, roumers and facts that might be of use.

Background:

Yana's Mother was gotten pregnant in White Harbour when she was attending to Prince Gaemon comfort whilst he was on a diplomatic envoy trip to visit Lord Manderly, Yana's Mother was a minor woman of tasks, serving in a house, fetching, and the mending and making of garments.

Yana did have employment from an early age in the same trade as both a way for her mother to keep her out of trouble as young child and as a way for the pair to earn a few extra coins for the small tasks that little Yana did.

Some time after her fifth birthday she caught the notice of Lord Manderly Sr, he ordered her scrubbed up and to make sure his bed was kept warm for when he went to his chambers. Yana thought some of his demands of her a little strange but soon learned that it was better to just obey than question the Lord. As Yana progressed through childhood, she became silent footed and swift moving from neccesity as it did not go well for her if she disturbed the older Lord with her presance. Once the Lord heir was born she became something of a silent and obediant minder and playmate for the young lordling heir as he grew up.

The elder Lord Manderly had her trained in how to strike swift and true with a slender blade, then had Yana lie with whomever he wished for her to, sending her to whores and seducers in White Harbour to teach her how to use her body to persuade, distract and entertain. As the Heir grew up Yana became his constant shadow, both guard and something of a personal assistant, serving him however he may have needed her to. Heir Manderly was betrothed to an ambitious young woman a little older than him. the young Lady moved into Manderly House and immidiatly loathed Yana and her closeness to her berothed.

It was arranged that Yana would go on an diplomatic trip some distance away, her trip was to take three weeks to a month. However Yana never made it there, she was beset by burly masked men whilst traveling and was knocked unconcious. Yana awoke to darkness, terrible pain, loud grunts and laughing of men. When she fully regained her senses an unknown time later it was apparent she was shackled in a moderatly lit, damp, windowless room. a group of rough looking men sat around a table drinking and amusing themselves with betting games. During an unknown period of time Yana pieced together than she was being held by the senior Lord Manderlys Guard on request of the heir berothed to teach her, her proper place in the Manderly Household. At bvarious times younger members of the general guard were brought in to make use of her. Yana managed to persuade one of the young lads to pass a message to his sister who worked as a maid in the House to give the Heir her location.

Lord Manderly Jr was understandably upset once he found out. Yana was removed from where she was and taken to skilled healers who managed to mend most of her visible injuries, however Yana was left with scars which she usually keeps covered with her clothes, when not dressed she doesnt explain them or draw attention to them. The Guards that treated her the worse she never saw again, their fate unknown, After Lord Manderly Sr died, Yana dug up every detail she could on the woman and unfortuneatly her Lords betrothed suffered an attack by what looked to be bandits who appeared to have mutilated and murdered her whist she was out riding before the evidance of her crimes could be addressed.

Unknown to anyone at the time Yanas imprisonment had left the barely teenage girl with an unwelcome gift, unfortuneatly after a long difficult labour.. or perhaps fortuneatly concidering how malformed the child was, it drew only a few breaths before dying. Lord Manderly made sure the child was given a proper burial for which Yana was too sick from the difficult labour to attend.

After many years of faithful service Lord Manderly offered Yana her freedom and she left White Harbour to try to find what might remain of her sires family and hopefully her sire himself.

Yana took a ship voyage as she went south and was unexpectedly dumped on some scraggy rocks with only her bag of belongongs. After she had wandered the rocky island for a few days she was woken in the night by a dragon hatchling helping herself to what was ment to be Yana's breakfast. Yana left the hatchling where they had met, the hatchling landed on Yana later that day and showed no signs of
wanting to leave. Therein the partnership between Yana and Spinel was
formed. Over time it began dawning on her that she might be on Dragonstone after she saw various other live dragons, she started heading roughly in where she vagely remembered the castle to be based on her assumtion, if it wasnt Dragonstone then she knew she would find the other side of the island or land mass sooner or later.

Yana and Spinel's travels took them to Kings Landing where Yana found out that precious few of her half siblings remained and that her sire was dead. She was sent on a mission by Maegor II to deliver a letter to his heirs, an action that saw Yana becoming Queen Rhaena's most faithful companion and Commander of the Dragonguard.

Over the last number of years Yana has fiercely defended Queen Rhaena, quietly removed trouble makers, eastablished a number of useful contacts and often practiced hiding her contempt of the pissants that make up the Kings Landing court.

Yana has vowed to never marry and dispite her many beddings with whomever shes pleased over the years shes never became with child again.. whether shes been lucky or perhaps pernamently damaged from birthing her only child is unknown. Either way it does not bother Yana much as shes no desire for a husband or children of her own.

Appearance: about the size of a sturdy horse, dark blackish with bluey-green markings

Spinel's saddle is no more than a peice of padded leather with a strap around her girth and lashings to keep Yana in her seat when flying, Spinel does no wear reins and responds to the lightest of touch or pressure from Yana in direction.

Temperament: fiercely loyal, oddly calm unless she or Yana are threatened, eats like starved even though Yana keeps her well fed.

History: found whilst on the trip to find her sires family.. unaware of the usual method of training and taming of a dragon Yana treated the kit with kindness and respect, and paitently taught her as she might a bright dog or horse and treats her as much an equal as shes able to. Yana tends to walk by the side of Spinel while they travel, she usually only rides when speed and time are off the essance or if they've a long way to travel, otherwise they take their time and enjoy the journey, and their time together away from the busy city life. Yana has taught Spinel to the level that she has never bothered with a proper harness, mostly just some padding to prevent chaffing and some strapping to stop her falling off when Spinel does fighting or flying manovers, as they have a deep understanding of each other. Yana also refuses to lock or chain Spinel up, to Yana shes a free creature to come and go as she pleases, Spinel knows to stay where Yana says her nest is and to not eat livestock or such unless given permission. Spinel isnt fussy about what she eats as long as its edible, however she usually eats like shes on her last meal and starving.. dispite Yana keeping her well fed it seems to be engrained in Spinels nature after her hungry beginning.
