"Come and take him," Aegon replied, his tone making it clear that any such action would be met with bloodshed.

"The Magister agreed to resolve our disagreement by honorable combat." Brandon said, "His champion was defeated. That matter is at an end."

"A servant challenged a Magister to a duel?!" Magister Lohar said, the surprise in his voice clearly genuine. He looked to the other Magister, speaking quickly in the bastardized Valyrian that was spoken in Lys. You did not challenge him in response to his insult? A servant cannot challenge a Magister, such a thing is unprecedented.
He turned back to Prince Aegon, ignoring the White Knight completely. "A servant does not have the right to offer challenge to a Magister, in this Daughter. Perhaps in Westeros it is acceptable for servants to assault their betters so, but in a civilized country it is not." He pointed behind Aegon, and off to the right. "The nearest gate is in that direction; leave at once, and do not come return. Neither you, my lord Prince, nor any Westerosi shall be welcome in Lys or its waters."

"If we choose to return there will be no Lys," Brandon muttered under his breath.

"Brandon Snow is the King of Westeros' own brother," Aegon snarled, patience at its end. "He is a member of the King's Small Council, of which there are only seven members. Your magister's disrespect for him was entirely uncalled for, but the matter was satisfied through a duel. The Lord Commander was gracious enough to allow a stand in for the magister, and gracious enough to spare his life. All of this I can stand."
"But I will not allow any man to stand and threaten to murder me. I gave Magister Ormollen opportunity to apologize or explain his actions. I gave you and Lys opportunity to settle the matter. I have been refused."
Aegon's arm lashed out, swinging his dark axe in a deadly arc. It cut cleanly through the neck of the sneering Magister Ormollen, felling the man instantly.
"I take my own price, Magister. I am willing to let that be the end of this personal matter between Magister Ormollen and myself. Press it farther, harm the Lord Commander or myself, and it shall be war. Send your men to overwhelm us, Magister, cut me limb from limb and torture me until my last breath. But know that such an act will mean Balerion's shadow over this city. Know that it will mean the destruction of Lys. Be careful not to take the wrong lesson from Oldtown, Magister Lohar. The lesson you should have learned is that the King will make an end of his enemies, no matter how long it takes or how much it costs him."
Aegon whirled on one heel and began walking in the opposite direction.

Brandon glared at the Magister, and spread the fiery gaze to the rest of the crowd.
Blade drawn, he moved to follow his Prince.

The Magister of the Waves stood stock still, trembling with either rage or fear, his expression completely impassive. He said nothing as Aegon walked away, though he looked down at the other Magister's corpse, and he shook his head disapprovingly. Magister Lohar ordered the the dead Magister's slaves to return his corpse to his family, before he too turned his back and left the square.

"How do you say 'clusterfuck' in Lyseni, Lord Commander?" Aegon murmured after they were a good distance away from the square.

"They probably have a dozen words for it, your grace," Brandon replied, "Fucking is all these people seem to give a damn about. We should go to the Dragons. Hold Laena there, and send the guardsmen into town to find the Princess. And if they mean us ill, we have our strength."

"If they seriously mean us ill we will be dead before we leave the city in any respect," Aegon replied, "And I will not turn tail to run while Rhaena is still in the city. We find her first, then we leave."

"They let us go, because they know the dragons mean we can burn them all. I'd like to be able to exercise that threat, if we have to."

"The Princess Laena exercises that threat for us," Aegon replied, "I am not leaving anyone behind." He made for the quarters where they were residenced, moving quickly. He hoped that decentralization of the Lysene government and the recentness of the event would work for them and they would not be challenged.
