Baelon paid a visit to Daenerys Velaryon's chambers, answering her invitation. He knocked on her door and waited.

Dany opened the door herself, looking slightly surprised as if she had forgotten about the meeting. "Cousin Baelon," she greeted with a smile and stepped out of the doorway to let him enter. "Please, do come in."

Baelon was all smiles as he walked in. "Thank you, Dany. I come bearing good news."

"As stated in your letter," said Daenerys as she closed the door, finding his good mood rather addictive. She returned to her armchair and motioned for Baelon to take a seat as well. "I take it you talked to the king about your endeavor?"

Baelon took the indicated seat. "I certainly did. And I hope you have some wine to celebrate with, because we're going to be in the pirate-hunting business, my dear. "

Pleased at the news, Daenerys stood and walked to one of the cupboards, taking out a bottle of fine Arbor gold and two glasses, which she brought over to him. Leaning against the table next to him, she poured out the wine and handed one glass to Baelon. "Is this your way of inviting me along or are you trying to make me feel more involved by calling it 'our business'?" she asked with a twinkle in her eyes as she clinked their glasses together and took a sip.

Baelon clinked his glass and drank before answering. "You've always been welcome to come along, if you're interested. They say you're quite the sailor. Even with the bad luck that comes of being a woman at sea."

Daenerys laughed. "Do not tell me you believe in these old wives' tales, cousin. And I am no sailor. I am a captain," she said. "What did the king say, exactly?"

"I believe his wording was, 'Do it. It is time that order was restored to the realm, and coin to our coffers.' And then he dismissed me. Maegor isn't known for being terribly florid, after all."

"If he wasn't a king, he would be a poet," Dany replied with a slight smile. "Have you talked Celtigar and the others about this? I don't know much about these pirates and how big a fleet would be needed."

"I haven't. My cousin Tyberis is not the easiest man at court to find." He replied. "But I can send a raven to Claw Isle. As far as the pirates go, to my knowledge there aren't any particularly organized groups. They may start joining up with one another once we begin picking off individuals, of course."

"Fair enough. Let me ask it this way, then - how many ships do you need?" she inquired.

"To start? Three should be plenty. If I need more later, I can wheedle them out of you then."

Dany appeared quite amused, but was in truth just glad three was all he asked for. "Then you shall have your three ships. Although I wonder if there will be any profit in it for me after the crown reaps its share."

"Maegor did not specify a particular cut," Baelon replied, sipping his wine, "I feel that ten percent will do for the time being. After that, figure one cut for each ship involved. Plus an additional cut for myself, as commodore."

"Ah, at least it'll give the men something to do," she replied, looking satisfied with his answer. "When do you plan on leaving?"

"As soon as the wife is with child, ideally. Best to secure the bloodline first, after all. She's rather worried about me."

"Ah yes, the bloodline of the legendary House Waters," she replied, a corner of her mouth twitching. "Of course, take your time. You will take Seaskimmer with you, I presume?"

"I will." Baelon replied, ignoring her comment about his surname. "He's not very happy being cooped up here in the city. Rather like his master in that regard."

Daenerys nodded. "We are the same, then. I myself will be leaving this city soon enough too. Back to Driftmark. And then, perhaps, I'll sail up to the mountains with Lord Arryn's son. He promised to show me around his home," she said, smiling at the thought of him.

"Ah, I knew there would be suitors before long." Baelon told her, leaning back in his seat. "There was...another matter that Arwyn wanted me to bring up with you. She's eager to marry off her sisters. I told her I would inquire as to whether your brothers have been betrothed."

"They have not," Dany replied, thinking about the offer. She had initially thought of giving her brothers free will in that regard, but the snotty way Jace had acted at their lovely dinner had been somewhat alarming. "My brothers have no lands," she said. "Would she be fine with that?"

"The Cuys have little themselves at the moment. A marriage with a house as influential as Velaryon, to a boy who's half Targaryen? She'll be fine with it. It's not as though they won't have options at court in lieu of lands. The eldest is a handmaiden for Daenya, so she'll be staying here when the rest of the family returns to the Reach. They can get to know one another."

"That would be fine by me, although I will not make any promises at this point," said Dany, who had to consider that Jacaerys was still her heir. "How old is she again?" she inquired.

"Fifteen, I think, and flowered. Pretty little blonde thing."
