He grinned. "You couldn't be so cruel as to change your mind now," he remarked. "I will take good care of it, I promise. And you said yourself you'd no wish to keep such a thing yourself."

"Perhaps I have thought of someone who would like," she said, but grinned, "by all means, keep it. I would say to think of me as you look at it... but I doubt you will have much choice."
She looked around and looked at her dress, "if you wish to take a break, perhaps you could show me your other paintings?"

"Of course. We have a gallery where we keep them. Only trusted visitors are allowed to see them, or someone that Father wishes to show off to. But he rarely tells anyone who the artist is." Ennio sighed. "He's surprisingly prickly when it concerns his honour."

"Is it so surprising? A powerful ruler being concerned about his honour?" she asked, putting on her dress but only wrapping it loosely around her. "Shall we then? presuming I am trusted."

"Of course you are." He offered his arm with a smile and led her to a long gallery where she could see various portraits done in the same style as her own, and paintings that looked to be Ennio's work, though there were many other paintings too, some of them by artist more talented than he. Ennio gazed upon it all with absolute love.
"Isn't it wonderful? This is my favourite place in the palace."

"It is very impressive. We do not have anything like this in King's Landing." she looked upon the works with great appreciation, looking at the one of the Archon, "Your father must value your work somewhat to show it here, with other great painters,"

"My mother insisted," he said with a laugh. "She's the one person he can't resist. But it's his pride, you see. He thinks it's improper for the Archon's son to paint, so we must all fall in line, at least in public. Were I just some painter from the city, I doubt he would hesitate to tell my name."

"Being the child of a ruler is as much curse as blessing, but it is better than starving on the street, no?" she asked, her tone light showing her jest, there was no contest, "I sometimes wished that I had learn a skill such as this, dancing or singing, or music or painting, but we were at war, it was all dragonriding and weapons, which are more important, but this seems like a wonderful way to clear your head,"

"It is. It definitely is that. Of course, I imagine flying is the same? I have friends who ride horses a lot and they say it clears their head wonderfully. Though I hope you will forgive me for comparing dragons to horses. I really can't think of a better way to think of them," he sighed.

"I am not offended, some riders see them as little more than that. I think that is wrong, I share a bond with my dragon, the like no one else can understand. Each relationship is different." she explained, "but some do see them as just tools. flying... I cannot say how it would feel, I have never known not flying, so it is as natural to me as walking, but there is always that rush, flying is freedom."

He nodded, not understanding, but not wanting to offend her by saying so. "You are truly blessed. Beauty and a dragon, now there's a fine thing. I don't suppose you'd care to stay here and marry me?" He bowed.

"Did you miss that I am here with my betrothed?"she asked, "Staying here would be no bad thing, it is a shame I love my husband to be though,"

"Ah, you must forgive me for trying." he retorted. "I am just a poor boy from Tyrosh dazzled by your beauty. If he loves you, he has a strange way of showing it."

"A lot of what we do must seem strange to you," she said with a sad smile, "would you really marry me?"

"Of course. Only a fool wouldn't want to marry you," he replied. "And that's without your dragon and your claim. Though it would be silly to discount those factors, wouldn't it?" He bowed again.

"No man could be considered sensible," she said, smiling, "I think my dragon and my possition in line to the throne are far more attractive prospects than I am. Are you an ambitious man?"
