Meanwhile, while the king was talking to Daenya, Adara had slipped into a corner and was passionately kissing a muscular man from the king's royal court.

"From what little the traders say of your father, he is a Valyrian traditionalist first." the king offered. "It would be an awful shame for one with so much to offer the Goddess to waste it on monogamy."
His eyes glanced to Adara with appreciation.
"Your companion seems to have the right of it."

Daenya looked over to Adara and frowned, quickly facing the king again. "It is a great compliment you make me, your Grace, but perhaps it is a little more complicated."
She ate another part of the orange, wondering at how for it could possibly go within the temple. "Would I not even be permitted a look into the outer parts of the temple without... taking part?"

"A simple life nurtures happy lands." he replied. "A bit of wisdom from one of summer blood."
"If you could witness such worship and resist the urge to worship as well, you are either a madwoman or a blasphemer."

"Maybe that can be my challenge then," Daenya replied with a smirk, finishing her orange. "As for a simple life... well, that chance has already passed me by. Adara took it when she could, it seems."

"There are always means to reconcile with the mistakes of the past." the king replied, his accent liquid and flowing. "Too many faiths concentrate on the absolving of sin and fear of death. Here we believe that not living to the fullest is the greatest sin."

"I am not sure if these are mistakes, though it rather depends on perspective," Daenya countered. "Our gods teach us many things, though perhaps most to broaden our mind."
She gave a thoughtful pout, then nodded. "I will visit your temple, though if things become a little uncomfortable I hope I will be permitted to leave."

"Of course." he replied genially. "I do hope you will feast with me in the evening."

"Of course, your Grace," Daenya replied, curtsying again. "It would be an honour to dine with you."

"Excellent!" Zalabar exclaimed, clapping his hands together. "Most excellent!"

Daenya smiled. "In that case, your grace, permit me to return to my lodgings and prepare myself for the evening." She was about to turn, then stopped.
"Oh, regarding that... your Grace, no doubt it is unfit for a Princess to pay for her bed and board; especially at such extortionate prices that Alayaya is charging. Would you not agree?"
She smiled sweetly.

"I will have rooms made up for you in the palace for the remainder of your stay." the king replied with a sigh and another pointed stare at Koja.

"Thank you, your Grace," Daenya said, curtsying one final time. "Adara, be a dear and fetch my things from Alayaya's."
She smiled. "And perhaps see if she will return my money."

"I will refund you from my own coffers." Zanabar assured her. "It would dishonor the Goddess to take coin from a pillowhouse."

"If you say so," Daenya said, the smile remaining on her lips. "I shall see you for dinner then," She added, before letting herself be shown to her chambers.

Adara wasn't even listening. She was too busy enjoying the attentions of her new admirer. She would probably remember to fetch their things later...if Daenya was lucky.

A massive ebony man was sprawled upon the bed in her chambers, naked except for a golden sheath over his manhood of proportional size, hairless from head to toe with muscles glistening with fresh oil.

Daenya jumped back when she entered, before getting a grip on herself.
"Sorry, I won't be requiring your, uh..." She began, biting her lip. She then pointed at the man and then out the door.

"The Daxos is here to offer pleasure." the flawless specimen of manliness replied, in a deep baritone. " The Daxos has already taken coin. Are you not pleased with The Daxos?"

"I was not... expecting... the Daxos," Daenya replied, still standing by the door. "I would rather have my rooms to myself, if you do not mind."

"All rooms are better with The Daxos." he said, flexing what seemed to be more muscles than the human body possessed. "A night with The Daxos rivals the price of hiring a Faceless Man, but The Daxos would do this for free. The Daxos has never had a dragon."

It was certainly a nice gesture and she didn't want to turn him down right now, so Daenya smiled.
"Perhaps I will require your services in the evening, Daxos, but for now I would like the rooms to myself. I need to rest."

"You will rest such as you never have before after having The Daxos." the persistent gigolo assured her with confidence.

"I am sure I would and yet I insist you return later," Daenya answered, her smile still present but a note of command in her voice.

"The king said I was not to leave this room until you have had full use of the Daxos." he said, standing. "It is rude to reject the gift of your host, especially one as glorious as The Daxos."
