Personality: Jaes is a private man, and is generally focused on his heritage as well as the family businesses of slave trading and trading in Valyrian relics from before the doom, both of which he is known for around the city of Volantis and those dealing in the same business.
Background: Jaes’ heritage can be traced back to one of the prominent Valyrian family, which is something that Jaes and his family have gone through excessive measures to hide in favor of giving off the ruse of being refugees from the freehold. Jaes’ great great grandfather being the last of his family to actually own a dragon was able to survive the doom by being off traveling when the fall of the freehold happened. Sooner or later the family setting themselves up inside the Black Wall of Volantis, selling the families ancestral Valyrian Steel sword to a merchant in the city of Volantis to get the money to get started in the Slave business, it was not until this man's son who was born of a Volantene woman found his great grandfather’s maps of Valyria that the Azantys’ family started their second business of buying ships and sending crews of slaves led by a younger brother of the Azanty’s figurehead, to explore the ruins of the old city looking for relics and artifacts left behind. Jaes’ personal history is one of Volantenese privilege, living behind the Black Wall surrounded by slaves and the political arena of the Tigers and the Elephants. Jaes immersed himself in trying to find everything that he could about Valyrian history with an emphasis on the dragons and how they were raised, tamed and bred. Jaes married the daughter of a long running Elephant Triarch and together they have had three children who help out with the family business of selling and buying slaves.
