Elseyris landed Nenyan in a clear space near the other scout dragon-riders, dismounted, and took her place among the Prince's personal guards, awaiting orders.
Her armour was made up partly of plates, partly of scale, all enameled dark green, edged in gold, with her personal sigil over the heart of the slightly convex breastplate replacing the simple red dragon it had borne before she left King's Landing - a gold circle with a forest green band down its middle, containing a crimson dragon, a silver crescent in it's claws, flying above the grey portcullis of her mother's house. Her long hair was pulled up into three stout braids, ready to be tucked under her helm, which she currently held in a gloved hand. With the other hand, she adjusted the drop of her flail chain, ensuring it was coiled in the ideal way to unfurl quickly when needed. It's gilded points glinted wickedly.
Despite her determined and calm veneer, her heart was trembling. She had prayed desperately in her tent, her hands clutched around the little dragon carving that she had brought with her for luck, an old gift from Lord Darklyn, a reminder of her wish to return home safely.

Daenya landed nearby on Vandaras, wearing midnight black scale armour, as well as a breastplate. She took off her helmet and set it aside, checking her sword and bow, as well as her quiver of arrows. When she was satisfied she made sure her twin braids were not going to unravel, before hopping off Vandaras.

Maekar's armor was finely made steel plate, enameled crimson from head to toe, trimmed with black. His helm was wrought in the shape of a dragon's head, and his oak-and-iron shield was painted the same crimson, with his sigil of a black dragon atop a mountain with spread wings painted in black in the center.

The army makes camp on the eastern bank of the Honeywine, along the Roseroad. The city that had opened its gates to the Andal invaders rather than defy them and done the same when Aegon the Conqueror moved south with his dragons, now had its gates barred to the enemies of the Faith. House Hightower may have been renown for their loyalty, but they had not rules Westeros' largest and oldest city in some time.
Oldtown is constructed entirely of stone, and every street-be it a primary thoroughfare or simply a shaded alley-has been build with cobblestones. The city is located around the mouth of the Honeywine river where it empties into the Whispering Sound. It is Westeros' preferred trading port, with ships from the Summer Isles and the Free Cities weighing anchor there. Oldtown is a preferred poert because of the ease which ships can navigate into the sounds. The primary reason for this is the Hightower, the tallest structure in all of Westeros. The Hightower is a gigantic lighthouse that rises from the bluffs of Battle Island in the center of the city. The tower rises in a series of setbacks some eight hundred feet up to its beckon, which can usually be seen from miles in all directions. The rest of the city was constructed around the Hightower, and it is said the city's citizens can tell what time of day it is based on where the building's shadow falls.
Oldtown lies on both side of the Honeywine, with numerous stone bridges connecting the two halves. Flanking the main gate are a mated pair of green marble sphinxes. Almost as impressive a sight as the Hightower itself, the Starry Sept stands out from the surrounding structures because of the black marble used in its construction. There are a number of other large septs in the city, including the Lord's Sept, the Seven Shrines, the Sailor's Sept, and the Scholar's Sept. Each of these has likely been fortified for use as a Faith Militant stronghold.
(You want any more information, someone is going to have to scout.)

Aegon sends out a group of light cavalry to scout closer to the walls of the city and see what they can see; mostly to see if the ground is prepared with pitch, caltrops, or other suprises, to see if there are any weaknesses in the walls, count siege weapons, and to count men and banners for an approximation of how many man the walls itself.
He also sends a man to take a careful stock of the wildfire loads (well away from flammable men and materiel) and determine how many bombs there are. He has a few of the camp engineers make replicas of the harnesses and boxes, and has them pack them full of jars of lamp oil held motionless with dirt. He sends a few more men to mark out white targets on the bare dirt well away from the host itself. Once that is done, he sets unoccupied dragonriders to practice with the practice bombs, to see first if it is feasible to accomplish takeoff without breaking the contents of the boxes, and if it is possible to practice their aim from very high heights.
What Aegon needed after that was eyes over the city itself. A small, fast dragon, to make a difficult target in case of any surprises. He summons Lord Rhaegar, who had accomplished his previous task well. "Rhaegar," Aegon says. "I want eyes above the city. Start very, very high. If there are ballistae mounted on the Hightower itself, they will have phenomenal reach. Not to mention that the maesters have had years to tailor their weapons towards defeating dragons, and there are no more ingenuous minds than in the Citadel."
"Fly lower as you deem it safe, but be ready to evade fire. Specifically, I want to know if the following buildings are fortified, and if they are mounted with archers or larger projectile weaponry: The Hightower, the Starry Sept, the Citadel. Any other notable buildings as well. Attempt also to count masses of men and banners to estimate how many foes we face overall. This information is very valuable, but a live dragon is more so, so retreat if you feel it is necessary."

Rhaegar nodded, his face, as per usual, displaying little emotion. "It shall be done, Prince Aegon. I assume I shall leave at once?"

Rhaegar saluted his cousin and mounted Vermax. With an crisp order, he and his black dragon soared high into the air. When he had reached a safe height from possible projectiles, he flew towards Oldtown, looking far below to try and work out what he could see in terms of the enemy military disposition. He kept a careful eye out for any attempt to fire anything towards him.
Expert: Dragon Handling (+5 to Dragon Handling Rolls while on Vermax.) Noteworthy: Land Battle

Back at camp, Valarr waited with Ithilgore. He wore his usual black plate with a round, uncrested helm. On his surcoat he wore his personal sigil of a dark green dragon on white, with his wife's triple-spiral in the background.

Ser Aemon sits against Azuria preparing for the upcoming battle, next to him is a large sack of rocks that he had picked around the camp. He is honing the axe blade of his halberd and is wearing his plate with his helm sitting on the ground next to him.

Daenerys was slightly pale and unusually quiet that day, standing next to Mith, a hand on the base of his long neck to soothe him. Dany's armour consisted of golden breastplate and red scale, but other than that, there were no indications to any noble houses.

The quartermaster reports that there are 8 wildfire bombs available for use, though cannot speak to their current volatility.
The scouts report back shortly that the Faith Militant host has gathered outside the main gates of Oldtown, the men counting at least 14,000 Poor Fellows footmen making up the center, with at least 500 Warriors Sons heavy horse on each flank. Defensive measures had been prepared before the foot soldiers in an effort to negate the cavalry advantage of the royal troops; including caltrops, mantraps, and trenches. Massive steel mantlets had also been erected to protect some of the ranks from dragonfire. The men also reported that the man they presumed to be Ser Hector the Dragonbane waited in front of the defense lines to parlay with the royal commander.
From the clouds above, Rhaegar could not make out a great deal. The walls were bristling with men that looked the size of ants and every inch that could be fitted with a ballista had been. As suspected, each sept in the city had been fortified for use as a Warriors Son stronghold, so that even when the gates fell the city would not be easily won. The Citadel and Starry Sept seemed to be the most fortified besides the Hightower itself, with ballistae crews keeping their eyes fixed to the air. The Hightower itself had been repurposed for one use: knocking dragons from the sky. Each of its six levels bristles with ballista that gave it a clear 360 degree commanding view of the city. Strangely, the beacon which had guided ships into the Harbor for centuries, had been removed. In its place was a large steel dome. From his height, Rhaegar could not make out much else.

When they had arrived at Old town, Maekar had mounted Cyrax and taken to the air, flying in lazy circles above the royal army. The army of Poor Fellows across the field was massive, not quite twice their own numbers but certainly close. However the Poor Fellows were notoriously cowardly, and despite being able to field vast numbers of men, they lacked the same brand of spiritual fire exhibited by those of the Warrior's Sons, and were far more likely to break rank and flee, if they saw their comrades being cut down around them. He was careful to remain out of range of the enemy, though when he spied a figure waiting in front of the Faith's army flying the Dragonbane's banner, he stared intently at the man and the surrounding army, trying to determine if swooping down to bathe him in flame would be a suicide mission.
