When Lord Tarly's column of 500 appears to the east of the army and moves to join it, a large black dragon can be seen flying above them, though it peels off to the south before Lord Tarly's men reach the main host.

Seeing the approaching column, Aegon lands his dragon and mounts a horse to meet Lord Tarly, a substantial knightly honor-guard with him. The presence of Cyrax in the sky assured him, but Aegon erred on the side of caution and the host stayed on alert. "Lord Tarly," Aegon greeted as he closed the distance. The royal banner snapping above Aegon's head left little doubt to who he was. "Welcome to the host. I trust you received Ser Maekar?"

The columns of troops bearing the colors of her house matched along looking like small children to her eyes from Tanis. She also spotted her nephew as he landed his dragon, also in the distance she saw what looked like Maekar's dragon heading south.
She landed Tanis and walked to where she saw Aegon on horseback talking.

"We did," Lord Tarly agreed.
Heartsbane's hilt poked over the lord's shoulder.
"Ser Maekar has gone to the neighbouring keeps to raise more men for Your Grace's forces. He'll be back soon enough, I expect."

She landed Tanis and walked to where she saw Aegon on horseback talking. As part of the scouting party, Nenyan & Elseyris had already landed when Tanis touched down nearby. Elseyris strode up and matched pace with Arenya; "Such a host we have, My Lady. This bodes well, wouldn't you say?"

Aegon nodded. "How many men do you bring us, Lord Tarly?" By his count it was perhaps slightly above 500, which meant Tarly had brought nearly his entire remaining force. He glanced in the sky at the arrival of another dragon -- there must be news from his mother's host. He would have to greet her shortly.

Arenya looked with short surprise, it was her dragon thief. "It seems so", she grinned. "I have word to deliver from the queen to my nephew."
"Has everything gone according to plan here? Everyone is alright, I take it."

"Five hundred," Tarly confirmed. "As well as knights and squires. I've a letter from Ser Maekar."
He produced the letter.

The Prince will appraise you of matters, My Lady. It is not, in truth, my place."

Aegon reads it briefly. "Good," he stated. "Fall in with the host. Consult Ser Anders Rowan for specific marching orders. And congratulations, Lord Tarly. Prince Maelys is a worthy man, and I am told his daughter is a sweet girl." He dismisses Tarly with a nod, then moves on toward his aunt Arenya.
"Arenya," His face is grim, for there was grim news to be shared. But first thing first. "What news from the Queen and the fleet?"

On the fifth day of the march, as the army trudged along to the point where the Roseroad neared the Honeywine River, a black dragon appeared in the sky, flying above the banners of House Beesbury. Two hundred more men joined the column led by Lord Beesbury, placing themselves under the command Ser Anders Rowan, and Maekar remained on Cyrax, circling above the army until they made camp for the night.

Having tasted little freedom for three years, Rhaegar exulted in flying above the army on Vermax, as it marched far below along the Roseroad. Having offered his oath at the Prince's demand, his honor demanded that he follow Prince Aegon closely, especially as his uncle Baelor was occupied elsewhere.

Daenya was stood further back, wearing a black dress in mourning of her sister, letting Vandaras fly along with them at not too far a distance. She had kept mostly to herself since her sister had died.

After a while, Daenya heard cries and shouts of pain coming from some distance away.

She had been off in her own world, but when she heard the noises Daenya quickly turned about and went off in the direction of the shouts. She was unprepared but curious.

Up ahead, she saw two boys fighting. The skinny one was being soundly thrashed by the big. muscular one. The skinny boy yelled for mercy as the big lad punched him.

"You boys shouldn't be fighting," She said, looking at both of them with a mildly disapproving look. She couldn't help but think how silly both of them looked and tried not to smile.

The tall boy took no notice, seeming not to even hear er. But the other one looked at her with big blue eyes in a bruised and bloody face and cried "Please, my lady! Fetch help."

[OOC: Going to assume Arenya tells Aegon about the wildfire in order to move things along. We can still RP that conversation in the "past," but I'm moving forward so we aren't waiting too long.]
Some time later, the Prince summons Lords Valarr and Rhaegar to him.

Valarr arrived promptly, as he always did. He wore the same grim expression he'd worn since Aemy's death.
"Prince Aegon," he murmured.

Aegon nods to the bastard warrior. Once Rhaegar is also there, he says, "Lord Valarr. You requested to be the one who told the Queen about Aemy. I am granting that request. I am sure you saw Arenya's dragon fly in. It seems that the Queen has transported a quantity of wildfire by ship, with a method of dropping it on the enemy from well out of the range of their ballistae. We need to get that wildfire from Sunflower Hall to here. You will fly back with Arenya, and recruit every soldier Lady Cuy has available. Have the wildfire packed into carts, and escort the men and their cargo back. Light it with dragonfire before letting it fall into the hands of the enemy. And tell my mother..." Aegon trailed off. What could he say about Aemy? "Tell her about our progress south so far," he finished instead.
He turned to Rhaegar next. "Lord Valarr is renowned across the realm for his battle prowess. I am placing you under his command. Prove to me you are worthy of my trust with this task, and your days of confinement will be at an end."

"I'll see it done and we'll join you before the battle," Valarr responded at once, though he didn't look too happy. He looked at Rhaegar. "I'll second the prince's words. Do your duty and I'll speak to my sister the queen on your behalf. Fail to obey me and I'll see you dead."

Rhaegar's face remained inscrutable at both the Prince's and Lord Valarr's words, a habit he had trained himself well over the past last three years.
"I have no reason to disobey either of you." he replied calmly to his cousins. "Vermax and myself are at your command."
