Appearance:
A short unimposing man that walks around with his head down and his hands in his sleeves. However, when speaking with others he does look them in the eye with his set of mossy green eyes. He has short brown hair and a slight receding hairline. He has a pockmarked face and is an unattractive man. All in all Waxley is unremarkable in appearance in almost every way. What he lacks in physical appearance he makes up for in ...POWER.
Character History:
Originally from Gulltown, Waxley was a stowaway on a ship when he reached the free cities, from there he travelled the streets of Braavos as a young man always interested in the street performers and acts that earned the buskers a decent living. 'Decent' meaning they could earn enough to feed themselves to survive. Waxley took on as a helper for one street performer who specialized in tricks of fire and flame. It was quite apparent that Waxley had more skill and talent than the man he worked for, so the man promptly shoved Waxley off. Waxley figured he could ply his own trade using the tricks that he had learned and he quickly became a crowd favourite. He combined puppets from shows with the fire tricks he knew to have more 'explosive' performances which drew large audiences. From here he drew the attention of a Free Cities Alchemist that offered to teach Waxley. The young man moved from city to city from which he gained a reputation and established a connection with Westeros. His journey started in Westeros, and he would return there to study and join the Alchemists there. After a number of years his natural talent and what he had learned over the course of his life, aided him in combining quite the resume of fire tricks and powers of flame.
Waxley was not quite a popular acolyte amongst the ranks, but a rivalry amongst the other members had made him the man in the middle, a swing vote in decision making processes so he began to hold some sway and was acknowledged as a man that did not really like to take sides. It was this sensibility that would later on suit him to become the head of the order. Two 'hotheaded' men were the clear runners for the leader of the Alchemists Guild, but for fearing of creating too much division, Waxley, a quiet man generally keeping to himself, was elected as leader. Neither candidate was particularly skilled and to avoid voting in a popularity contest the wisest choice was the seemingly most skilled man and someone with the most potential to elevate the order through demonstration of skill. Something no one asked him about beforehand was if he actually wanted the position and responsibility.
