Name: Lord Rhaegar Targaryen
Status: heir to Aenys I's bloodline
Age: 17 (born 63 AL)
Dragon: Vermax (Fresh) aged 25
Weapon: Longsword
Character Skills:
-Expert: Dragon Handling

-Expert: Long Blades (from Noteworthy)
-Apprentice: Spears / Lances
-Apprentice: Political Intrigue
-Novice: Charm
-Novice: Hand to Hand
-Beginner: Persuasion
-Beginner: Animal Handling
Personality: Once an exuberant and outgoing lad, Rhaegar has been somewhat chastened by the death of his father and his subsequent detainment. These days, he does not speak over often, keeping his counsel and watching his words carefully. Yet when drawn out, he can be quite charming. He is fond of his mother, but sees her as an over-worrier. Once close to his younger sisters, since his father's death, he has become increasingly estranged from his younger sister Visenya, not necessarily through any desire of his own. His difficulties have made him a good judge of character and he is somewhat suspicious of people's true motives, especially when they show kindness or friendship towards him.
Background: Only son of Prince Aenar Targaryen and Jeyne Yronwood of Dorne, Rhaegar Targaryen was fourteen when his father died in the duel with King Maegor II. With his mother and younger sisters detained by Maegor II, many lords argued for Rhaegar's execution as well, although Maegor judged that the son should not pay for the folly of his father. Squired to his uncle Baelor Targaryen the year after, Rhaegar learnt the knightly and military skills needed for a Prince of the Blood, even though he was one no longer. Virtually friendless, Rhaegar became very close to his dragon Vermax spending many hours training him and honing his training skills. He has also spent many hours reading and has become quite the expert in theoretical knowledge of commanding men and organising troops, even though he had little practical experience, except that given to him by his late father. Rhaegar is not allowed from Kings Landing except under escort and as a result has spent many hours in the Red Keep's training yard honing his skills with sword and lance.
Appearance: Typical in appearance for a Targaryen, Rhaegar's mountain Dornish antecedents, inherited from his Yronwood mother, are virtually non existent in his appearance. Silver-blonde with the lilac eyes of his father, Rhaegar is quite tall and he is more solidly built than his thin father, one of the very few traits he has inherited from his mother. Rhaegar walks with an easy grace.
Events: Rhaegar took part in the Battle of Oldtown against the Faith Militant, leading the heavy infantry into the city, after the loss of his dragon Vermax. It was the timely intervention of Rhaegar's men who prevented the rout of the Royal Army's left wing and his men were amongst the first to breach the walls, taking one of the gatehouses and allowing the Royal Army into the city. As a result Rhaegar has become widely known as a commander of some promise at the tender age of 17, equal with his cousin the Crown Prince and the King's brother Maekar, despite being regarded by much of his extended family as "traitorspawn". After being betrothed against his will and with several threats against his person by a jealous Maekar, Rhaegar fled Kings Landing with his mother for a destination unknown.
