"I will do," Taena agreed. "I'll come find you later. though."
She led her dragon back out of the great hall, realising that it would be safer to take the dragon out to the yard.
Ser Edmyn watched them for a moment, then he asked "Do you ever wish your own dragon were small again? Or do you prefer flying with him?"

"Please do, dear," Dany called after her before turning back to Ser Edmyn. "I have never given it much thought, actually. Perhaps not. I wish I could say they are cute when they are little, but that is not exactly the case. They look like lizards after all. But grown, they are majestic, and powerful creatures. I would almost say dignified. I prefer flight, yes." She looked round to see if there was any sign of Lady Myrcella's arrival.

"I cannot entirely blame you for that. I should not like to have a dragon trailing after me the way that little one trails after Lady Taena." Edmyn grinned. "It breathes fire, after all."
And then Lady Myrcella entered the hall. She went to embrace her daughter. "My sweetling. Thank the gods you are safe. Who is your friend?"

Daenerys happily returned the hug. "Mother! How have you been faring?" she inquired after pulling back and stepped back to introduce them. "This is Ser Edmyn Arryn. Edmyn, this is my mother, Lady Myrcella of House Lannister."

Ser Edmyn bowed and offered Lady Myrcella his compliments. She received them graciously, smiling her approval. After calling to a servant to pour wine, she said "I am surprised you bring us an Arryn as a guest. I did not know you were acquainted with the Arryns. We have been well enough here, as it happens, though we still mourn your father."

"As do I," replied Dany sadly, but continued on a lighter note. "Ser Edmyn and I met at King's Landing. I figured it would only be suitable to show him our home as he will be doing the same for me soon."

Lady Myrcella looked from Dany to Edmyn and nodded her approval of the young man. "That sounds like a very good idea. I am not acquainted with the Arryns, personally, but their house is old in honour, and their status as Lords Paramount of the Vale is not to be disregarded. They were Kings of the Mountain and Vale, before the Conquest. You like him, then?"

Dany's cheeks reddened visibly at her mother's most embarrassing question. "I do," she replied with a quick side glance to Edmyn. "He is one of the good ones."

Ser Edmyn smiled mildly as he accepted a cup of wine from a servant. Lady Myrcella's eyes danced with amusement at her daughter's embarrassment. "I should hope so. What shall you do after you have visited the Eyrie?"

"Remains to be seen," she replied, picking up a goblet as well. "I suppose you will be fine with looking after Driftmark in my absence for a little while longer?" she asked, knowing her mother had been rather content ruling the place in Lord Edric's stead before.

"I will," Lady Myrcella agreed. "Someone had to look after the castle while your father was at court, and I found I had quite the talent for it." She smiled. "I will always be here when you need me, my love. Driftmark is as much home to me now as the Rock once was.. Though it's wonderful that you came home for a while, and not just to please me. It will do your people good to know that you have paid them a visit."

"Well, it is my home," she replied. "Once I return, I will stay." And start acting like the lady, she thought. "Thank you. If there is anything troublesome going on, will you send for me? You know it only takes a few days to travel back here on Mith."

"Yes. I'll send word if I must, but I hope you need not come home for anything other than your own wish to do so. So let us speak no more of such matters. I hope you will enjoy the Eyrie."

"Oh I'm sure I shall. Ser Edmyn says it is lovely," she replied, studying the lady Myrcella with a small smile. "I have missed you, mother. Jace and Monty send their love as well."

Myrcella nodded. "I miss all of you, but I know that keeping you all safe on Driftmark is not possible. Take care of yourself, my dear."

"Of course, mother," said Dany and turned to Edmyn. "Now - shall we show you the gardens?"

"There's one in two days time," the boy said. "The Reliant, m'lord. Captain will take passengers if you pay him."

"It's at the far end of the dock. The figurehead is a man with curly yellow hair. Captain will be in the tavern, I expect."
The boy indicated a tavern not far off.

A drunken man stumbled into him without apologising. "Have a drink," he slurred. "Ain't no time for looking for people. Drinking is better. Women too." He put a friendly arm around Vagarr's. "Or better yet, buy the captain a drink. And me too."

"No drink means no captain," the drunk man explained. "That's the way of it, stranger. Captain's over there."
He indicated a table where a group of men laughed uproariously. Vagarr couldn't tell which one was the captain. All of them were burly, bearded men with very loud voices, and at least half of them were already drunk.

"That's me." The speaker was the tallest man, with a fiery red beard and muscled upper arms as big as Vagarr's thigh. He grinned and saluted Vagarr with his tankard, slopping ale as he did so. "Who're you? Looking for shipboard work?"

"Alright. Two silvers for a cabin. Have you the coin for that?"

"Five stars for a cabin," the captain insisted. "Or I'll give you a hammock for two. That's my final offer."

"We've no virgins on our ship, unless you bed with boys," redbeard said with a laugh. "No women on my ship at all. It's bad luck. But you can have the hammock and welcome."

"Aye, you go ahead. Don't be late. We sail in two days, on the tide." The captain then turned back to his drink.
