Located not far from the Red Keep, this manse is a two-story stone building behind a stonewall with iron pikes on top of the wall to keep uninvited guests out and the house owner in. There is a small stable on the grounds, also made of stone, and a small garden. This is the confinement, where Lady Naeterys, sister of the traitor Aenar, has been allowed to live in King's Landing. She is not allowed to leave the grounds without two goldcloaks escorting her at all times and guests coming to see her, though not those of the royal family, is searched and asked to state their business before being allowed to meet with Lady Naeterys.

Jeyne arrives with her children. She wears a crimson dress, shimmering like rubies, with golden thread and white lace. The colours do well to set off her Dornish beauty.

Jeyne is joined by her youngest daughter, Elseyris, clad in velvets of deep purple, with accents of gold thread around the neckline. Her hair has been wrested out of it's usual chaotic braids, and now hangs in a long, thick cascade over her back and shoulders. She bounds up to her aunt with a broad smile, and embraces her tightly.
"Auntie! It is good to see you. How are you?"

Baelor arrives shortly, wearing a long black coat with a violet doublet underneath. "Sister. You look well. Thank you for the invitation."

"Hello, Uncle," said Elseyris, her eyes belying some trepidation. "How are you?"

Naeterys met them all at the door, however while the others seemed to have dressed up for the occasion, she was wearing more simple clothing made out of wool and it seemed like she hadn't really bothered in dressing up in any way at all. She stiffened slightly when Elseyris threw her arms around her in a hug, but she smiled slightly toward the young girl when she was let go.
"I thought I told you that this was a family dinner, so there was no need for you to dress up like it was a feast held at the castle. Within these walls, you do not need to keep up appearances like we have to when we are among those beneath us." she said before she answered her niece's question. "I am rather well, though I am itching to return to the battlefield again. Neither me nor Veraxes are finding this confinement rather exciting, even though the gentlemen that stands outside my gates are quite friendly."
She then turned and looked at her brother and shook her head, though with glint of mischievousness in her eye.
"Still trying to be the charmer, I see. I thought that you'd learn that flattering gets you nowhere with me."

"Yes, it is boring sometimes. We should be allowed to fly more often."
At the remark about their clothing, she turned to her mother;
"See? I told you I didn't need to be all trussed up like this!" she said, plaintively.

Baelor let out a slight laugh before saying to Elseyris, "There is nothing wrong with looking absolutely fantastic, my niece. And you do look very pretty."

Baelor let out a slight laugh before saying to Elseyris, "There is nothing wrong with looking absolutely fantastic, my niece. And you do look very pretty." "Thank you, Uncle. You always look so fancy, you know better than I do." She smiled shyly, always feeling so awkward when she was told she looked pretty. It was becoming increasingly frequent. "I was just saying to Auntie that we should get to fly our dragons more often, what do you think? You must miss the battlefield too, I imagine."

Baelor's face sobered slightly, and he sat down across from his niece, "Elseyris, I would not go back to the battlefield unless commanded, unfortunately. And if you saw it, you would agree as well. However, I would care to take Vriskaranea out more often. Maybe sometime in the near future, we could go riding together, hm?"

However, I would care to take Vriskaranea out more often. Maybe sometime in the near future, we could go riding together, hm?" Her face also became more solemn. "Uncle Aegon said something similar. There are so many great war stories that are so very exciting, but the men I know to have been to war almost alway say it is awful. I wonder why that is not in the books." She paused contemplatively for a moment, then spoke a little more brightly; "I would love to go riding together! I love dragon-riding, there's no greater thing in the world." She caught herself in her youthful exuberance, and she bowed her head a little in embarrassment; "...though I admit I know little of the world."

"Fortunately you have years ahead of you yet, Elseyris," Baelor says with a laugh, reaching over to playfully muss her hair. "You're not a grumpy old geezer like me."

Putting on his best surly old man face, Baelor folds his arms and grumbles, "When I was your age, we didn't have nice siblings. They weren't invented yet." He looks over at Naeterys and gives her a playful wink.

She grinned impishly, looking between her aunt and uncle with amusement;
"Did you two fight a lot when you were younger? And who won, I wonder?"

Naeterys had been quiet and just listened to her brother and niece with a distant interest. She had never been one that spoke much and much rather liked to listen to others and get information by just watching them interact with each other and build herself a image of what kind of person they were. Her brother hadn't changed much over the years, he was still a smooth talker that used words to try and get what he wanted. Her youngest niece was a different matter though, she felt that there was more than met the eye with that one and that intrigued Naeterys. She had never been able to give birth to any children of her own and she had accepted that a long time ago, but that didn't mean that she didn't have hopes to be an influence on those of a younger generation. She chuckled slightly as she answered her niece's question.
"Well, there were a handful of fights as I remember it, and even if I do not wish to shame my dear brother, I will have to say that I won most of them. He wasn't much of a brawler as a child and from what I can see he is still the man with words as he was when he was young. And that is a good trait in a man, most men are all action and no words and that gets boring in the long run."

"I must take after you then, I'm a good fighter. And you should see me fly, Auntie. Nenyan is so fast! He can outstrip some of the older dragons easily! I wonder how long it would take to fly across the Narrow Sea. Do you know?"

"It would not take long, little Elseyris," Baelor assures her, "Vriskaranea takes her time when urgency is not required and we make it in less than half a day." He glances up at Naeterys and smirks, "I thank you for the vote of confidence, dear sister. Besides, I am sure that we could both agree that it is far more impressive to put an arrow into a man's eye from a hundred feet away than to swing a sword at his head."

Elseyris' eyes widened; "You put an arrow through someone's eye from a hundred feet away?!" she said in dismay. "I didn't think that was actually possible, I thought the stories said things like that to be dramatic!" She thought for a moment, her fingers fidgeting with the tablecloth. "What's it like, across the sea?"

Baelor turns back to Elseyris, incredibly animated, "You should have seen the shot, my niece. Lord Alyn Marbrand, charging at the head of the False Lion's calvalry..." He makes gestures to accentuate his point, excited about the shot he had made despite the fact that it had taken a man's life. "And a single arrow, painted silver with purple flights, took him in the eye before he crashed into our ranks." He leans back with a smile, glad that he was able to land such a lucky shot.
"As for across the sea... well... it's very different, Elseyris. The women sing in the streets and the men paint their beards. There are temples to a thousand and one gods, and the cities span enough land to make King's Landing look tiny in comparison."

Naeterys had been on her way to answer her niece's question, but as usual Baelor interceded before her. Her brother did like to hear the sound of his own voice, that much was certain, but there was no use in trying to make him change in their presence. Instead she just returned the smile.
"Impressive yes, but I would also call it more cowardly, dear brother. There is nothing more exhilarating than being in the heat of a battle and being that close to death from all sides, and most men and women are living in fear of death and I believe that is one reason for some to train with bow instead of sword." she said with complete conviction showing on her face.

Baelor gave a lazy glance and a catlike smile to his sister, saying, "Ah, but it takes a man of skill to put an arrow through a single person's eye than to lop off that same person's head. I would think it's a smaller target to aim at from farther away, no?" He turned to face her more fully, that same sly smirk on his face, "Besides, if I was like every other man in our family, do you think my charms would work so well on the ladies?"

"You make archery sound so exciting...and deadly!" She wasn't sure whether the latter was something she was supposed to value, or not. "How do they remember the names of a thousand and one Gods? And why do they need so many?" "Oh, sorry Auntie, I didn't mean to imply that your skills are not also impressive, you are very impressive too," Elseyris added anxiously. "Tell me about your favourite battle...well, if you want to, that is."

Naeterys turned to look at Elseyris and gave her a comforting smile. She hadn't even considered that Elseyris might consider her brother more impressive than her, so there was no issue there, but the way the girl behaved in that moment was something that was beneath them as Targaryens, that was something she expected from one of the lesser bloods at court.
"You should never apologize for something you didn't do, Elly, never. You have Valyrian blood in your veins and that put you above most people and you should never show them that you might have made a mistake, that might give them ideas that they are our equals and that is something that I ever want to even consider happening." she said and looked Elseyris straight in the eye. "And we'll have to save the tale of my favorite battle for a later hour. I think we've been standing in the hallway long enough now and I wouldn't want the food I have had the servants prepare go to waste."
She escorted them all to the small dining room that she held in the back of the town house. It wasn't a very large room, but big enough to hold a table with at least a dozen chairs. There were paintings of dragons in flight, war scenes from the Conquests and family portraits hanging on the walls and there were several cupboards along the northern wall which probably held drinks of all sorts. Naeterys took her seat at the head of the table before she showed the guests to take a seat of their own.

"Elseyris, I am willing to admit that my older sister is better than I in certain fields, as long as she is willing to acknowledge that I am better than her in others." He glanced over at Naeterys for approval, but glanced back to his niece without needing it in order to pull out a chair for her.
