Appearance: Tall for her age, athletic, with an innocent, pretty face. Of the three siblings, Elseyris is the least 'purely' Targaryen-looking, with her mother’s chestnut brown eyes, and a honey tint to her skin, rather than the porcelain paleness of her brother and sister. Her hair is more blonde than silver, usually kept in thick, chaotic braids.
Personality: Rebellious, willful, competitive, mischievous, honest, sincere, inquisitive, serious, passionate, honourable, selectively affectionate, sneaky.
Background: The youngest of Aenar’s children, Elseyris was only 11 when he died, but his death affected her deeply, nevertheless. She had tried to defuse the situation in the Throne Room that led to the fateful duel between Aenar & Maegor's relatives, though was not heeded.
She is conscious of her family’s unstable circumstances, and her low position in the hierarchy, but she often responds with behaviour that tempts trouble. Even before her father’s death, she was fond of sneaking around, listening to secrets, finding hidden places, and playing pranks on her elders and betters. However, with guidance, she has learned to be more congenial, and has made some friends for herself. She had a close friendship with Lord Darklyn, until his death. Before joining the war effort, she swore an oath of loyalty to Prince Aegon, in order to prove herself trustworthy to the Realm, hoping to gain her freedom someday. However, the two formed a relationship that displeased the King, and so were forced into separation.
She was given her dragon, Nenyan (whom she nicknamed 'Little Brother'), just a hatchling, when she was one year old, and her bond with him was immediately deep and strong. He had been a very amiable dragon all his life, until he neared age 14, when he began to show more aggressive behaviour, almost burning Lord Tybalt Toyne to death. Choosing to suffocate Lord Toyne out of mercy, rather than watch him suffer, Elseyris is haunted by the secret memory of the first person she killed.
Nenyan was slain by Ser Hector, the Dragonbane, in the Battle of Oldtown.
After a time of being denied permission to seek a new dragon, she was eventually sent to Dragonstone, where she bonded with the dragon, Caraxes.
She is married to Ser Trajan Waters, who is wanted as a traitor to the Crown.
