Name: See above. Motto: Burned to Ash, Reborn in Glory (Agreed on)
Origins: After the Doom, one of the few surviving dragon lords of Valyria proclaimed himself Emperor and marched south with a newly raised army to make it fact. But his new legion was built from levies and sellswords from across the Freehold and beyond, and not all shared his vision. Many turned on him, killing him and his dragon -- the survivors became the player's mercenary company. (Fuller version of the tale of 'Emperor' Aurion to be found on page 26 of world book)
Size: 500 men (To start -- should grow over time with player action) Banner: Phoenix clutching a dragon skull in its talons (Needs popular approval, also colors). The company also carries the skull of the dead dragon with them as a symbol of their victory; individual units and squads may also have their own emblems and trophies.
Valyrian Steel: Emperor's Bane, handed down from one Captain of the company to the next (Needs popular approval)

The Burning Legion sucks, and Valyria didn't even use legions anyway, that was what Ghis used. I voted for the Ashen Band, but honestly I'd prefer the Band of Ashes or something along that line, which wasn't a choice.

Haha I felt they should sound boastful to give a sense of confidence and power even while they are still a small group.

Long before the book came out.

Yeah, the Doomed came up when we were discussing the merc stuff in chat the other day. It's a fairly similar concept, though IIRC your guy's driving force was finding a new home for Valyrians, which is not really the case in this one.

Yeah, I was mainly inspired by the Golden Company and the history of Israel. Refugees-turned-army in search of a homeland and so forth. It's a really cool concept, and has a wonderful potential for intrigue, drama, and action.

Those who haven't voted should probably do so.
