I feel like most of the elections for Captain will be handled by killing the current one.

I don't think that's how elections typically get handled. Look at the Golden Company. A bloodbath every time you need a new leader doesn't exactly facilitate profit.

Honorable combat through dueling, my man.

I'm sure it could come to that, though honorable sellsword is kind of a contradiction

Do we have a thread where people are talking about what they intend to play?

No thread as yet, but people have mentioned it in the chat room and some are already making characters.

Re: elections. It would be way too cumbersome to model the votes of all the members of the company, so the PCs should act as opinion leaders, where it is assumed that a proportion of the NPCs will follow their lead on who to vote for. I think we should do this based on Status.
So say there are 10 PCs in the company (all active -- inactive players would be excluded). Three are status 2, three are status 3, and four are status 4. That adds up to 31 "status votes," meaning a single character would need 16 to carry the election. From that point the intrigue rules and regular RP would prevail as normal -- if you convince a PC over to your side through persuasion, bribery, etc., the NPCs who look to him based on his status are deemed to switch their votes accordingly as well. If there is no majority in a vote, a second vote is taken the next day, and then the next, Night's Watch style.
